Fire Safety in P7

Today, we were lucky enough to have five fire fighters come to visit our school and teach us about fire safety. We learned how to keep safe on fireworks night and also top tips to help us if we were ever caught in a fire. P7 were very engaged with the talk and had some fantastic questions for them. They even got a comment about how wonderful an audience they were! Below are some pictures from the talk :

Lego Colosseum for Italy!

Hudson, Elias and Nathan – I am so impressed that you have taken on our context of Italy and worked on your own project at home. You created the inside of the colosseum, paying close attention to detail. In these pictures, we can see the gladiator battle scene – alongside the animals kept in cages below the wooden floors. You also stated that you attempted to make the outside (finding it very tricky, with its curved edge!). P7 loved hearing about why and where you put each piece of lego. They particularly enjoyed the emperor!

Football Tournament P6/7

Well done to all the Primary 6 and 7 pupils who took part in the football tournament at West Calder yesterday. We had a lovely day for it and enjoyed playing against Mid Calder and Parkhead. Well done to both teams 👏 coming 6th place and then 2nd place in the overall tournament. Making it to the final is something you should be very proud of 😊

Trophys in P7

Sophia and Millie both shared their achievements with P7 last week.

Sophia – won this trophy for her dance exam. She won the trophy for cheer and a medal for overall dancing! Well done Sophia.

Millie – Millie won this trophy for being player of the match with her football team. Great job Millie!

Keep up the good work girls !

Medal Monday in P7!

On Monday this week, both Jakson and Hudson brought in medals to show our Primary 7 class.

Well done to Jakson who won two medals in his kickboxing tournament on the weekend. Jakson earned these for continous and point sparring and is now Scottish Champion. Well done for all your hard efforts!

Hudson brought in some interesting war medals, passed down to him from his ancestors. The medals belonged to his great great grandad John and his great uncle Frank. P7 loved hearing stories about the war and what medals were given for.

Thank you Jakson and Hudson for bringing them in and sharing your stories with us,

Miss Bennett

Sports Day – P3-5

Unfortunately, due to Scottish weather we had to move our P3-5 Sports Day off the grass and into school grounds/dining hall. Pupils completed activities such as an obstacle course, long jump and target throwing. The weather cleared up at the end of the day, which allowed P5 pupils to participate in sprints for their house. Well done to all that participated. I hope you had lots of fun!

Sports Day P1-2

Happy Sports Day everyone!!

Unfortunately, due to Scottish weather we had to move our Sports Day off the grass and into school grounds/dining hall. The pupils were very resilient and loved working hard to achieve house points for their team. They visited 4 stations outside and 3 stations inside. They completed activities like bean bag target throw, javelin and an obstacle course! Well done to all that participated.
