We finished our models today in Lego Club. Great fun!

P4 Lego Club
Yesterday the Lego Club met for the first time. We enjoyed working in small groups to build our model. We had to use our concentration skills to work out the instructions and find the correct pieces. Only one build was finished so the other completed models will be photographed next week. Then we get to start on a different build.
P3a Numeracy
Each week we take part in lots of different Numeracy activities to help us develop our skills. We share our strategies and help each other try them out. This week in our Number of the Day task we had to work out sums with the answer 39. We came up with addition subtraction, multiplication and someone even came up with a sum involving division.
P3a Creativity
This week we were given a black dot on paper and had to use our creativity to draw a picture using it. We came up with lots of different ways.
P6/5 & 3a Library Buddies
We went to the school library to meet and read with our buddies. There are lots of brothers and sisters in the classes and it was lovely seeing them reading together. The new library has lots of space so we could all chill in our own area.
P3a Money
This week we have been trying hard to improve our work with money. We used games on the iPad, coins in class, a class shop and challenge cards.
I am learning the value of coins.
We are playing shops to check we can lay out the correct coins to buy something.

P3a Maths Week Activities
A mysterious box was left in our classroom this morning. We tried to think what might be. When we opened it, it was filled with triangles. We looked at them and discussed what was the same and what was different. Then we heard a story about triangles. Next we split into groups and took part in different activities.
At Base 1 we were using 2d shapes to create a picture and then tried to name all the shapes we had used.
At Base 2 we were using construction to build 3d shapes. We then thought where we might see them in the world.
At Base 3 we were working on our money by setting up a shop and buying different items.
At Base 4 we logged onto our Sumdog accounts and worked on our Maths online.
P3a Money
We extended our learning on money by thinking about answering the question, ‘how are we going to show we know how to use money?’ Lots of discussion and groups then started setting up their own shops, writing labels for what they had on sale and making sure they gave the correct coins.
P3a Numeracy
In Numeracy this week we were using Ten Frames to help us work out sums. We used counters, drew it and then wrote the sum. We were even able to help each other correct mistakes. We will now use these strategies when working out sums with bigger numbers.
P3a Money
This week in Maths we were starting to look at Money. We investigated coins with our elbow partners. Then we sorted them. Some of us sorted by size or colour. Someone decided to sort by value. She shared her method with the class, then all tried her to sort the coins by value. While we were learning we were using lots of skills – curiosity, teamwork, communication & problem solving.
