P4S Literacy
This week our writing lesson was great fun. We were given a person card with a job they would do and had to describe their character. Then we were given a setting card and we had to think of adjectives to describe it. Finally we were given a natural disaster card and had to write notes about what would happen. So we might have had a nurse on Mars when a hurricane happens or a farmer in a supermarket during an earthquake. It was hilarious!!! Next week we will be using these notes to write an imaginary story. We can’t wait to share the results.
P4S Achievement
Well done for taking part in the Edinburgh Kilt Walk. You walked 5 miles, raising money for charity and received a medal.

P4S Open Afternoon
Thanks to all our visitors at our Open Afternoon. We had a great time showing them different Literacy activities to help improve our spelling, writing and reading comprehension. We will be developing these skills throughout the year and look forward to sharing with you again.

We have been very busy in Primary 4 thinking all about the new rules. They are much easier to remember. Then we used them to make our class charter. We each drew ourselves to put on the board. It will help us remember to always be,
Ready, to Respect others and to be Safe.
P4 visit to Partnership Centre
On Monday all the Primary 4’s went to the Partnership Centre in East Calder to celebrate the completion of the Artwork being displayed. Back in November we were asked to take part in the design process with artists from Bespoke Atelier. We helped them by discussing and designing our own bags which were used as inspiration. The artwork has now been installed in the Centre and we were given the opportunity to view it and share in some refreshments.
P4S Football
We were learning to dribble with the ball and play games to improve our skills. Then we worked with partners to try to dribble the ball to each other. After that we played a game of cat & mouse. The cat had to run around the circle and get back to its space while the mouse had to try to steal the balls. At the end we had to play a match against each other. We had a great time and it showed us different ways to improve our fitness.
P4S Smoothie Bike
We had a great time making our Smoothies. We talked about how healthy they were to eat. We also used the bike to discuss what we had learned about forces and how they were moving the wheels and then the blade of the blender. Very yummy smoothies!!!
P4 visit to Partnership Centre
Following our Textile Workshop earlier in the year, Primary 4 have been asked to celebrate the completion of the project by visiting the Partnership Centre to view the final artwork. While there, they will take part in a short workshop and will be provided with refreshments. This will take place on Monday 17th June at 1.30pm – 2.30pm.
