P1C enjoyed their skills hub. We learned about percussion instruments through a listening game. Then we made shakers from recycled materials and rice. We listened to a piece of music shaking our shakers to the beat.
We had a discussion about critical thinking and creativity skills and everyone was able to identify when they had used them.
Yesterday, Primary 2 shared some of their learning with their grown ups. We showed them our pre recorded assembly which they loved. Then we shared what we had learned about Scotland 🏴. Some of the activities included, designing tartan kilts, tasting shortbread and listening to Scottish music. Photos below capture some of these moments.
The children voted to learn about Scotland as they wanted to know more about the country that they live in. Below are photographs of just some of the good work and learning that has taken place. We look forward to welcoming parents/careers on the 2nd March to share our learning. 
Primary 2 had a fantastic time at their Christmas party. We played games and did lots of dancing. 
Primary two had a fantastic time celebrating book week. We loved our secret reader visits and enjoyed listening to lots of stories. We also designed our own book covers and shared these with the class. On Wednesday we enjoyed reading with with our friends and families and received our read, write, count bags.
Primary 2 learned all about Remembrance Day and the reason that we wear poppies.
They did super writing and created poppies using different materials in the classroom. 
This week primary two learned about the life cycle of a butterfly. We learned about the four stages which you will see in an excellent example below. We also learned about food chains. We created our own food chains using toy animals and whiteboards. Hope you all enjoy your October break 😀.
This week was maths week.
Primary 2 engaged in a number of different activities. This included an outdoor maths trail, maths through stories and welcoming visitors to tell us all about their jobs and how they use maths in everyday life.
Maths through stories developed our knowledge of 3D shapes. We drew and built 3D models. We enjoyed our outdoor maths trail and worked together, using 10 frames to record our answers. The visitors inspired us to write about a job that we would like to do in the future and we thought about the maths skills that we would need.
We used our problem solving, teamwork and communication skills.

We wanted to create self-portraits. We could use anything in our classroom. This included, paint, pencils, tissue paper and Lego. Our aim was to develop our creativity skills. You will see examples of our work below.
