First Aid Training

Our fantastic Pupil Supports workers along with myself took part in a refresher emergency first aid course to ensure we can continue providing the best care for all of our children!

A big thank you to Crown Safety for educating us all further with important life skills. Adults learn too 🙂

P5/4 Achievements Outside of School

I am very proud of these pupils for their fantastic achievements outside of school. One pupil got these trophies for her amazing racing which we enjoy hearing about each week. She got 5 1st places at Ireland. The next pupil got this wonderful medal for his martial arts competition – a massive well done!

Miss Baldacci

P5\4 working hard!

Who says you can’t get lots done when it is a short week? Primary 5/4 say you can 🙂

We have been busy with the following:-

– Continuing to build on our knowledge of Explanation texts.

– Continuing to explore Measurement where we have been measuring both in and outside of the classroom (looking at cm, mm and metres so far!)

– We have started learning about our new learning context (Oceans and Climate Change).

– We have been using our mapping skills to identify the location of the continents and the oceans.

– In Science, we  started looking at The Water Cycle which we found really interesting.

– Finally, one of the pupils became our teacher and taught us some Spanish numbers (what a treat with her own PowerPoint too)

Phew – it sure has been busy but lots of fun and enjoyable learning.

Have a lovely Thursday off, Miss Baldacci.

P5/4 are hard at work!

Please have a look at the pictures to see what we have been up to this week 🙂

We have started learning about a new type of writing – an explanation text. We have been learning about what features must be included to make this writing successful. We have also started looking at Measure for Maths. We have started by looking at all the different ways we can measure something and have started making conversions between measurements.

For P.E, we have been learning the importance of teamwork through rounders – we have been enjoying it!

I hope all the families from primary 5/4 have a relaxing and safe long weekend,

Miss Baldacci.

P5/4 fun on the last week!

Have a look at what we have been up to this week. We ended our week with a fun Easter Maths hunt 🙂

I have had a lovely time working with all of the children in primary 5/4 🙂 Have a lovely Easter holiday when it comes with family and friends. Take care,

Alison Baldacci (Principal Teacher)

HHave

P5/4 have been working hard :)

Have a look at what we have been up to this week. We have been focusing on the following:-

  • Identifying the difference between a fact and opinion.
  • Reading Circles where we have focused on our new reading books.
  • Our ‘ough’ sound.
  • The Skeletal Structure and researching the names of the different parts and what they do.
  • Time where we have been identifying 5 minute intervals as well as minute intervals and discussing the importance of the hands and how they can be drawn – ensuring there is a difference between the minute and hour hand. We have been linking this to digital time and how this looks.
  • Circuits and gymnastics have been covered in P.E where we are trying to improve each week on our individual skills.
  • In Spanish we have had fun learning the colours and playing games to help reinforce them.
  • Writing a recount based on our WW1 context that we have been learning about. These recounts were based on The Christmas Truce. We planned it out and ensured our recount had an orientation, sequence of events and personal comment at the end.
  • Finally, we are in the process of creating a new WW1 display for outside our classroom – watch this space!

Well done for your hard work this week, p5/4! I am enjoying working with you and look forward to more learning and fun next week. Have a lovely weekend 🙂 Alison Baldacci (Principal Teacher).
