Today we went out to the Quad to practice our times tables. We worked in pairs on our trickiest table and had to check each others work.
Then we thought about the symmetry in butterflies and draw some and took pictures to show our work.
Mrs Grieve has been on a course all about Numicon which is a fantastic Maths resource. The children really benefitted from this and we all explored the Numicons. We looked at number bonds to 10, as well as ways that they could help us learn some of our times tables. Then we decided to carry on our learning with the Numicon using paints!
Who says you can’t get lots done when it is a short week? Primary 5/4 say you can 🙂
We have been busy with the following:-
– Continuing to build on our knowledge of Explanation texts.
– Continuing to explore Measurement where we have been measuring both in and outside of the classroom (looking at cm, mm and metres so far!)
– We have started learning about our new learning context (Oceans and Climate Change).
– We have been using our mapping skills to identify the location of the continents and the oceans.
– In Science, we started looking at The Water Cycle which we found really interesting.
– Finally, one of the pupils became our teacher and taught us some Spanish numbers (what a treat with her own PowerPoint too)
Phew – it sure has been busy but lots of fun and enjoyable learning.
Have a lovely Thursday off, Miss Baldacci.
