Primary 1

Primary 1 had a very exciting end to the term. We have listened to lots of Christmas stories this week and engaged with different craft activities related to them.

On Tuesday it was our party in the hall and it was great fun!

Mrs Murdoch and Mrs Forbes would like to thank you very much for your kind gifts.

Happy holidays to everyone!

PJ and Movie Day in P6

Primary 6a settled down after break today to watch our festive movie ‘Nativity 2-Danger in the Manger’-this came out top in our class vote. Everyone looked so cosy and relaxed in their jammies, onesies and Xmas jumpers and we especially enjoyed the fact that this was set in a school, there were some really funny moments!

Only 7 more sleeps to go!

WW2 Context P7B

As we come to the end of our WW2 context in 7B I would just like to say a big thank you to the members of the class who brought in their precious WW2 family artefacts. It was great for the class to see and handle these items as it really added a personal touch, allowing the class to see how war impacted families throughout Scotland.

P1 news

We had a very active week in Primary 1 this week.  We enjoyed our visit from the SSPCA where we learned all about Scottish wildlife and what to do if we found any animals that were sick or in danger.

We also went on a Santa Stroll around our school grounds and the surrounding area. It was great fun! We had to spot letter clues on our journey and note them down in pairs. At the end we slid all the sounds together to make a Christmas phrase…’ Santa Claus’.

P4 SSPCA workshop

P4 had a wonderful morning session with the SSPCA education officer. We learned all about their job and became rescue officers ourselves when we had to solve the problems that had happened to the different animals. We then got to do some coding and plan some sequences for our robotic animals. It was great fun!

Busy Day in P6

The Primary 6s had a fun-packed day today; we had a visit from SSPCA Officer Lyndsey, who led a fun and informative session about the work done by this organisation. We had a chance to ‘rescue’ a variety of animals and then used coding to program a virtual cat!

In the afternoon, we settled down to watch our yearly festive panto. This year’s show was ‘Puss’n’Boots’, which was streamed live into our classrooms and which we all thoroughly enjoyed; plenty of audience participation and some yummy snacks too (thank you, PSC).

P5, P5/4 and P4 Fischy Music

We were lucky to have the opportunity to take part in a Fischy Music session last week. Everyone was so excited to see the people from Fischy Music who we have seen so many times on screen in Assemblies! We  sang songs that we know so well and we learned a few new songs too. One of the songs reminded us of the importance of friendship and the qualities that make a good friend.

We really enjoyed our learning and Miss Cameron, Miss Beattie and Miss Marra certainly spotted some future performers among us. We are looking forward to using some of the new songs we learned to support our learning in class.
