NURSERY – Fun and Learning at Home
Good Morning, hope you are all well 🙂
Here are some suggested activities to give a try.
Baking/Cooking – Do you prefer savoury or sweet? Well here is an option for both. Click Here for a link to Lucy’s granny’s delicious shortbread, highly recommended by Mrs Laing And Click https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/pizza-puff-pinwheels for a recipe to puff pastry pizza pinwheels.
Alexa Games – Do you have an Alexa in the house? Why not ask her to play some games with you and your family, here are some ideas L.I I can use technology to help me learn new things.
Stickman – Do you like the story Stickman? You could read the story (available on YouTube if you don’t have the book) and then go out a walk and collect sticks to make your own stick family. What size of sticks will you find, long, short, thick, thin, big, small? L.I I can compare size of everyday objects and can use correct mathematical language. L.I I enjoy listening to stories and sharing my thoughts and feelings.
Grow a sunflower – Measure it daily to see how tall it grows and record its progress in a notebook. L.I I am learning how to recognise numerals and use mathematical language in the correct context. L.I I am developing my pencil control.
Have fun and stay safe

Collins Big Cat Reading
Collins Big Cat Reading
We are delighted that we now have access to Collins Big Cat Reading scheme.
Reading is so important to your child’s development. We would encourage everyone to try read a little every day, especially if you are finding it a challenge to get your child to complete work at home.
This is a whole school reading programme that provides support for primary reading.
Our pupils will be able to access hundreds of high quality fiction and non- fiction banded books by award- winning authors and illustrators.
There are also activities at the end of each book and resources for you to try if you wish.
Each book is read aloud but if your child would prefer to read by themselves click on the pause button.
Your child’s teacher will advise a colour of level for your child to start reading.
Please adapt this if necessary to suit your own child’s reading ability.

Morning everyone, hope you had a good weekend. Today’s grid is slightly different from our usual one to take it more in line with most of the other classes in the school. Also as it is a shorter week there are less learning activities. This week I will be doing a live video chat at 10 o’clock on Thursday. Set your alarms to remind you. Just give my morning message a thumbs up so I know to invite you to chat. Looking forward to hearing what you have been up to.
