Safer Internet Day 2022


We are focusing on internet safety this week in school.

P3/4 have an exciting week

As part of the STEM challenge, we were learning about Fibonacci number sequences. 0, 1,1,2,3,5,8,13,21,34,55 ……. We have been outside looking for patterns in the natural environment. We found spirals in the bases of fir cones.

We made some lovely Christmas cards.

We were very excited to have our Digital Day! We experienced lots of digital activities all day – ‘it was amazing’!

P6 Digital Day

P6 had fun during their Digital Day today.  They experienced creating short stop frame animations, trying block coding and improving their keyboard skills.  They have also practised uploading files to their class teams page.

P4 Digital Day

Today P4 have been working on all things digital as part of DYW / Digital Learning.  They were very competitive learning keyboard skills.  They had to do a lot of problem solving and debugging to get their Lego creations to move correctly.  Everyone enjoyed creating a short stop frame animation.

Everyone had a great time.  “It didn’t feel like we were at school we were having so much fun”.  Well done everyone for working so well together and trying your very best.  You managed to upload lots of your work and your animations to your class team page.

P4/3 Create Flying Santas and More Digital Learning

 

This week we have had a revision of simple fractions.
We had fun using games – both hand’s on and online.

We were learning about St Andrew on St Andrew’s day.  We designed our own tartans online.  We even managed to save our designs on Word, and then upload our documents onto our class team.

We have also been practising our keyboard skills. As we become more familiar with the keys, we are getting faster at logging into different websites and apps.

We have been learning to write programs to run on the computer using block coding. We had great fun coding Santa to fly across the screen.
