Good Morning Primary One ! I hope you are all well and enjoyed yesterday’s sunshine.

A few tasks for you to complete today.

Activity 1 –     Writing

L.I. to write instructions

S.C. I can list the steps you need to take to put sun cream on

We have discussed in class why it is important to always use SPF creams when we are out enjoying the sunshine. We don’t want anyone to burn their skin as we know it can be painful and dangerous. Today I would like you to write a set of instructions on how to put sun cream on properly. Have a look at the youtube clip it may be helpful.

Remember when writing instructions you must list them (as below)

Activity 2 –

L.I. to add and subtract numbers

S.C. I can add 2 numbers together to find a total

S.C. I can take a smaller number away from a larger number to find a total

I would like you to complete Addition and Subtraction to 20 Summer Mosaic sheet from your home learning pack. You have to solve the calculations in order to reveal a picture. Remember you can use concrete materials or a number line to help you.

Activity 3 – Random Acts of Wildness

Today’s challenge                           

Throw seeds and soil in hard to reach places. It will be interesting to see what eventually grows.

Activity 4 – Disney’s Virtual Trip

L.I. I am learning to identify ways to keep myself safe.

S.C. I can explain ways that I can keep myself safe.

Safety Rules

Look at the video of Disney Land. Can you think of any rules or things that you would need to do to keep safe at the park? Think about what you should do on rides, who you would speak to and any extra rules that you can think of.

I am looking forward to seeing  pictures of you taking part in our sports day activities. Some tasks for you to complete today.

Activity 1 – oi sound

L.I. to understand that 2 letters can make 1 sound

S.C. I can say the sound to match the letter shape

S.C. I can blend this sound with other sounds to read words

S.C. I can create words with the oi sound in them

For today’s phonics task I would like you complete the “oi” Spelling Flowers from you learning pack. There are 12 petals on the flower can you write an oi word in each petal?

You may find this game from eduactioncity helpful and fun! Remember your login details are inside your jotter. (once you have logged in, go to find content by subject, then Literacy, then Early** and lastly scroll down to Soil Spoil)

Activity 2 –

I would like you to complete Addition and Subtraction to 20 Colour by Number from your home learning pack. You have to complete each sum and then colour it according to its total. There is a key towards the bottom of the page e.g. 20-4=16 and if you look to the key it tells you to colour the number 16 red. Remember you can use concrete materials or a number line to help you.

If you manage to finish the addition and subtraction sheet then you could try Counting in 10’s Dot to Dot from your home learning pack. It’s just like a normal dot to dot only this time you are counting in 10’s Enjoy!

Activity 3 –     Random Acts of Wildness

Today’s challenge –            

If you manage to spot a mammal why not take a picture or draw a picture and write a sentence or 2 describing what it is and where you found it.

Activity 4 – Disney’s Virtual Trip

I hope you managed to make a passport for yourself containing all the relevant information. Now for today’s task-

Good Morning Everyone! I hope you all had a fantastic weekend. Only 2 more weeks left in Primary 1!!! It has been such a quick year. As we are nearing the end of term the blog will be slightly different. There will be a literacy and numeracy task and some challenge tasks for you to enjoy.

Activity 3 –

For this activity I would like you to turn to I Spy and Count to 20  sheet from your home learning pack. You have to count each of the summer object such as ice-cream, sun glasses etc. Once you have counted them write the total in numerals and number words e.g. Sun Glasses – 10  ten. Top Tip – it maybe a good idea to cross them off as you count them so you don’t count them twice.

Remember you can also finish off your SHM booklet at anytime.

Activity 3 – Random Acts of Wildness

Activity 4 – Disney Virtual Trip 

From now until the end of term I will be posting activities that will encourage you to use your imagination to go on a virtual trip of Disney land. As we can’t actually go this year this virtual trip is the next best thing.

Day 1 – Art

S.C. I can include my name and age

Create a passport that you can use during your trip! Remember to include a front cover, your name, a picture of yourself and lots of space for characters names! Each time you see a character this week in a ride, video or song, make sure to write their name in your passport! How many characters will you meet by the end of the week?
