Hello everyone, Mrs Lockhart here again. Hope you are all well.

Today you can find your work for Mrs Dobbie in her folder in class materials. I will meet with you in a check in at 11.00 and again after lunch at 1.30 for a live dictation lesson. All your work for the day from me is in the Class Materials folder dated Thursday 4.2.21. We are covering RME /French with Mrs Dobbie, meeting an author live session, a dictation, a reading task from a non – fiction book and a story/poem for enjoyment.

Don’t forget it is good to have regular brain breaks and to get some fresh air.

I have written down times to try and help with organisation but feel free to move things around or do them later if that’s easier.

Take a new line in your jotter write the short date (4.2.21) and title – Dictation

Listen carefully and write your group’s dictation.

2.00 Next task is to read the non-fiction book about Musical Instruments again and complete the new follow up task.  Like last time you will find the book online by following this link https://online.raintree.co.uk/login/index.html

Now follow these steps…………..

  3. Type Musical Instruments into the search bar at the top of the page
  4. Then press the big green button READ BOOK

The follow up task is to go to the picture glossary at the back and choose eight items. Then rearrange them into alphabetical order. Remember if the first letters are the same go to the second letter and so on.

If the book is a little tricky for you to read independently. Make sure the audio button is on and listen to it until you feel comfortable. You can read along with the reader as well.

S/C I can use my knowledge of what I have read as well as my skimming and scanning skills to locate key information to answer the questions about the text.

Task: Read the Comprehension Task on Ratman and then answer the questions that follow. Remember you can go back to the text as often as you like and some questions may require to give your own answers and your opinion. Try to answer in full sentences where required. There is a Mild, Spicy and Hot task to choose from. Task: Complete an illustration like you did last week, but for another part of the story. Remember to make this detailed and connected to a part we have read so far and also to say WHY you picked this part to draw.
