This week we have been looking at the events in Glasgow, COP 26 and climate change.

For one of their activities related to this the children created and published web based interactive quizzes. I am trying to work out how you can all access them.

Maths: today we did some clockwise stuff. We drew circles clockwise and we used compasses to help. This week we have also been rounding decimals. We have also been doing various activities related to time and times tables.

For spelling we have done another spelling test.

For reading we read a book that helped us understand how to make persuasive writing. We also read our group novels and did questions on them. We also did questions on COP 26. We read an article on the BBC to find out information to create and answer the questions.

Our new topic is now COP 26 and climate change.

In PE we did basketball. We practised dribbling and shooting.

Maths: doubling in number talks; decimals to one decimal place and two decimal places; mutliplication by ten to millions.

this week we started with learning the areas of a compass and left and right, we didn’t all know them and that’s why we did it. After break Mr Topley came in and told us about his years in the army while he was telling us about the army we took notes and after we wrote the notes and then wrote the notes into paragraphs and some of us got the chance to go onto word and write it down. After that we finished the day off with P.E. and we climbed up ladders and done monkey bars.

On Tuesday we started talking about our topic myths and legends that carried on after break we done a summary on our books that we have read already and wrote it into our literacy jotter. Some of us fixed the library by moving the bookshelves and sorting the books into fiction and non-fiction. after that we done a summery on our books which we took notes and turned it into paragraph’s we had also did math on number lines.

On Wednesday we had Mrs Dobbie. We got dirty and it was extremely messy and we carried on after break for a little bit. We then we had continued our summary’s. After lunch we got our free writing jotters after we had a look at our math wall and looking where to put our displays. We  continued with our summary and reading them out. We then put up some stuff on the walls in the classroom.

On Thursday we started with logging into our glow some people were not able to log in so

At the start of the week we did we did bottle organization ect after that we did writing about Mr Topley’s years in the army he was really good at explaining it and it was really exiting. Then we started tiling for math with 3 dimensional shapes it is really fun to tile we also got to colour them in we were not able to make design in our tiles but we could make patterns with the tiles with the colours. We did a sway for parents about how our class thinks.

We started literacy on the loch ness monster that we were then going to put it in our jotters. Later in the week we also got a chance to change our library books and a couple of people chose Anne Frank books plenty of people chose non fiction the rest chose fiction books. We did 3 dimensional shapes the class did math sheets this carried on till after break.

P 5/6

This week in primary 5/6 we started with settling in to school again after the long summer, we got to meet our new teacher and classmates it was really fun.

After we got to choose our seats but they were not permanent after we chose, we started our work we were doing 3 tests 2 math 1 spelling and at the end of the day we were playing a game with toilet paper it was a math game to get to know about everyone. It was however many sheets of toilet paper you took is the amount of things you had to say about yourself.

On Wednesday we had started to line up in Alphabetical order to get better at it, CB is at the front and EY is at the back, we had then got trays sorted out every student had gotten 2 trays each. the left is for jotters and stuff the right is for drawings and pencils we had also went over to the library to choose books some people had chose animal books some cars others science or fiction we had then read till the end of the day we had also labelled the jotters.

This week we have been doing….

Maths

In maths we have been doing money as chimney sums and bus sums. In the previous math we have done we included the four functions which were addition, subtraction, times and division.

Drama

In drama we have been doing Oor Wullie , Oor Wullie is a Scottish cartoon ,  members in our class would act it in a Scottish accent.

literacy

In literacy we have done free writing. Free writing is were you can make up you imaginative story. Some people do dragons or princesses.

 

P5/6 week

Literacy

In literacy we did some science/literacy/art/health. Mr Colverson found a passage called Bens burger we had to draw the digestive system we had to draw a human body in art. we also done jigsaw the Primary 6’s had to go into a different room while p5,s were learning different things.

 

Maths

In  maths we done money and division we had to divide money and use calculators to add them up. For ICT/ we’ve been doing teaching money and education city.

Spelling

In spelling we have been using our spelling words with our spelling sheets and practising our words .

 

 

P5/6

Literacy

In literacy we have been doing presentations with our table groups about video games. We first went into powerpoint and then we researched about different video games and one of us did horses. On Friday most of us presented the video games.

Maths

We are focusing on money and chimney sums and divide or times them. A lot of people find it fun and some find it boring but when they first thought it was boring they did not like it but now most do.

This week we have done…

Maths

On math we have been looking on this online app called trip adviser. On trip adviser we have being booking our teacher a holiday and adding up how much it would be. And then we look up hotels see how much that is then get a flight and work out how much it cost.

Literacy

On literacy we have been doing Free writing were we can right what ever we want. We have also been getting  spelling words that we can practice and we wrote a story with they words.

P.E

In P.E we have been doing football and gymnastics. In football we pick teams and then we play. In gymnastics we get mats out and then do what we want like handstands and cartwheels and more.
