DB I learnt how to use metaphors.  In Metaphors we use the words is or was for example:

Simile- I am as strong as the Hulk

Metaphor- I am  Hulk when I’m angry.

FS- I learnt how to write a descriptive text.  I know that it has to have a title, introduction, characteristics and evaluation.

GH- I learnt how compare numbers.

TN- I learnt to find to add and take away 100000 from a 7digit number.

EH- I know how spell words with ph.

MG-  I enjoyed recreating Henri Rousseu’s painting of a Toucan.

P7/6 Class

Numeracy

I learnt how to write numbers up to millions.  CW

I learnt to use compensation strategy for addition. FS

I now know how to read number up to the hundreds. G

I learnt different ways of saying add and subtract.  I know that ascending also means addition.

I know how to read and write up to hundred million. CC

LITERACY

I know that I need to make a new paragraph when I talk about new topic.  HA

I need to change paragraph when people are talking in the text.  KP

I know that to change a verb into past tense.  If the last of the word ends with the vowel e, I have to drop the letter e and then add ed. LD

I enjoyed answering questions about our Class Novel. LD

I learnt that Con ( character in the novel) is really bossy and mean.

I enjoyed making a character profile about Con. KP

IDL

I learned that there are four layers of the rainforest. LD

I enjoyed creating a diagram of the layers of the rainforest. EH

I know that the Emergent layer has bird- eating tarantulas. TW

 

We have enjoyed our learning this week! We are looking forward for next week!

Welcome to our first blog for this session.  We’ve an amazing week!

For Literacy, we learn to write an informal letter, we learnt to create/ use paragraphs and we learnt visualisation techniques.

For Numeracy, we have been learning add numbers using partitioning strategy and column addition.  We have bee revisiting place value of numbers too.

For Expressive art, we created Zentangle art.

For IDL, we located the Amazon rainforest on the map.  We also identified the countries it belongs to.

For Health and Well- being we revisited the well being indicators and we discusses who our trusted adults are.
