We have hit the ground running with P4 business enterprise.   There will be a pop up Stationery Station very soon.  So watch this space!

We have thoroughly enjoyed our week as we have been learning to follow directions to find treasure.  We learnt to estimate answers to addition sums and we have been practicing rounding.

For Literacy,  we consolidated all our learning all of our reciprocal reading strategies.  We continued writing persuasive text and practiced our spelling words.

 

 

Another productive week was had by all.  The P4s have been working hard to use their subtraction skills in solving word problems.

They create a persuasive text about the use of fireworks, they learnt to use speech marks in a sentence and they created questions about their books.

For IDL, they designed and created their own chariots using paper.

 

Another great week had by all!

We enjoyed writing questions and predictions about our new books.  We learnt to use different types of conjunctions and we wrote a persuasive text regarding the importance of bees.

For numeracy, we continued finding the missing numbers and we began learning how to use written subtraction with borrowing.  In Maths, we revised on our knowledge of tessellation.

For Health and Well being, we played Futsal and began our journey to understanding our dreams and goals.

We have really enjoyed creating algorithms during our digital technology class with Mrs Buntin.

What a fantastic week we had!

We started learning to write a persuasive text, we learnt to use exclamation mark appropriately and we wrote literal questions about a text.

For Numeracy, we began learning subtraction strategies focusing on inverse operations.  We also revised on fractions and percentages.

We thoroughly enjoyed FUTSAL on Wednesday.

On Thursday, Mrs Buntin taught us how to use and access Glow/ TEAMS.

We had a lot of fun writing spooky stories to day and of course we loved our Halloween Party.

 

This week we enjoyed  a variety of fun learning experiences.

For Literacy,  we practiced reading and writing our spelling words, we learnt how to use commas when writing a list and for reading, we used our clarifying strategies to define the word- Hibernation.

For Numeracy, we learnt to add 2 digit and 3 digit numbers with exchanging.  We also worked on our number facts during Number Talks.

For PE, we played Futsal and Tennis.

This week we have been busy writing a Recount about our PE Lesson.  We practiced our clarifying skills and began our questioning task for reciprocal reading.

For Health and Well- being, we investigated what assumptions mean and the consequences it might have.  We practiced tap ups and serve skills in Tennis.

For IDL, we made Roman Bathhouses after we explored the ways in which they were used.  We created patterns to make mosaic art as well.

For Numeracy, we have been learning to find half and quarter of a number.  We also revised on our chimney sums.

This week we consolidate on our mental addition strategies.  Ask me how to do compensation, partitioning and skip counting.  We have also been learning to use chimney sums as a written method of adding.

For Literacy, we worked on creating an effective orientation for our recount.  We revised on our punctuations using dictation.  For reading, we defined words that are unfamiliar.  We learnt to use clarifying skills to make meaning and expand our vocabulary.

In PE, we worked on our forehand and backhand skills using tennis rackets.

I liked doing writing about Draco the Dragon.

I enjoyed learning about skip counting strategy to add onto 2 digit numbers. S

I enjoyed learning about fractions because I like to learn.  SC

I liked doing spelling because you can learn new words. DN

I liked learning  about the words Denominator and numerator because it was interesting. M

I liked to do the shields because its creative and inspiring. L

 

 

 

What a productive week it has been.

For literacy, we wrote a recount on Flying a Kite with Ms Taylor, we learnt to use past tense form of the verb by adding “ed”  We uplevelled our sentence writing skills by adding adjectives using our describing bubble.

For Numeracy, we have been revising on writing numbers in words and digits form.  We have also been learning to use partitioning strategy for addition.  For Maths, we explore the properties of 3D shapes and classified them according to their properties.

For HWB, we learn about the roles of people in our community as well as our on roles as children.  For PE we have been working on our hand eye coordination and concentration skills as we performed catching and serving the bean bags on our rackets.

For IDL, we have learnt about how the Romans came to Britain, where the came from and who Julius Caesar was.
