Come to our Read, Write, Count Event!

Read, Write, Count is a new campaign to support parents of children in primaries 1 to 3 who want to take a more active role in their children’s learning.

Read, Write, Count’s website gives lots of simple ideas for working fun reading, writing and counting activities into your daily life. These are things you can do while shopping, on the way to school, at bedtime or mealtimes. You can have fun and help your child get the best start in life!

We would like to invite you to our Read, Write, Count event on Thursday 29th November

P2 parents – 1:30-2:15pm

P3 parents – 2:25-3:10pm

This will provide an opportunity for you to take part in and enjoy activities linked to the free family bag you will receive with your child and also to explore the school library.

P1 Bookbug Event!

Bookbug will once again be gifting a Bookbug Primary 1 Family Bag to every P1 child in Scotland during Book Week Scotland, 19-25 November.  This Bookbug Bag will help to create a lasting link between reading at school and at home. This bag also allows your child to take part in the The Bookbug Picture Book Prize. They can use the voting slip to vote for their favourite book from the bag, encouraging their love of reading by celebrating their choices.

We would like to invite you to our P1 Bookbug event on Tuesday 20th November from 1:30-2:30pm. This will provide an opportunity for you to take part in and enjoy activities linked to the family bag with your child and also to explore the school library.

This week in Art we created a small sketch book  (lots of folding was involved!)  where we began to sketch  some pictures of The Titanic. We  gave each other feedback on how to improve our original sketches and used this feedback to sketch make our next sketch even better
