Did you manage to find your favourite books yesterday? If you have them all in one place how about making your own mini library from an empty box?
How big the box needs to be depends on how many books you have and what size they are.
Maybe you could paint it/ decorate it with coloured paper. You could write or stick on some famous reading quotes (see below). Think where is best to put your library so you can get to your books whenever you want to snuggle up and read. Maybe having some cuddly toys nearby would be a good idea too?
You can keep a note of all the books you have or have read with the reading journal page above.
Children have been making rainbows and sticking them in their windows. They are doing ths to cheer people up as they out and about. It has also been known now as the Rainbow trail as many children are looking out for the rainbows if they are out for a walk. I thought perhaps Deans Primary children might like to start this in our school area too!
A rainbow has always been seen as a sign of Hope, and there are lots of stories about what might be at the end of the rainbow too – maybe you could write a story to go with your rainbow picture!
This time last year we had a visit from the author Chris Duke, who wrote the story “Lucy’s Blue Day” .
It is about a little girl whose hair changes colour depending on her mood.
One day she wakens up and discovers her hair is blue and she doesn’t know why ….
Well our wee Lucy is feeling a bit blue now too – especially as she has to stay at home all day! Perhaps you can write a story about how Lucy keeps busy or write her a letter to cheer her up and suggest what she can do ! Maybe you could post it on your class TEAMS page?
