It has been another busy and exciting week in Primary 1. On Tuesday the 5th we welcomed firefighter Steel. He told the children all about his role in the fire service and explained how they not only fight fires but rescue people who get into trouble in the water and climbing. However, the most important message was keeping safe around fireworks. The children asked him lots of questions and some enjoyed trying on his special (very heavy) firefighters hat.
Summer wrote a lovely thank you letter to all fire fighters who work hard every day to keep us safe.
Story Writing
The children have been learning how to retell and sequence a story. They picked The Rainbow Fish and discovered that the story reflects our own school values of feeling included, supported, safe and valued.
Yoga has become a form of exercise that the children really enjoy and look forward to. The children are learning about the benefits of yoga through stories, music and games. Yoga helps to build resilience, manage emotions and promote a sense of well-being through the use of postures, meditation and mindfulness.
We have also been busy preparing for Deans 50th birthday. We hope you can come and visit us. We are showcasing learning in the present time.
Have a lovely safe weekend.
