What have P5 been up to this week?

Literacy

  • Reading

We have started our new group reading books and have been learning to read with fluency using various strategies to read unknown words.

Although it was tricky we practised using our inference skills to demonstrate understanding of what we had read.

  • Writing

Bella – I enjoyed writing a diary about the main character in my reading book and practising my chatty style.

In spelling we have been investigating the different ways to spell the phoneme/sound ‘j’.

Maths

We continued to consolidate our learning about time. Our time-telling skills are improving.

Lewis – I enjoyed learning about am and pm.

P.E.

Georgie – Rugby was tricky bit I improved my passing skills.

Keris – I got better at catching the ball.

Choir

Keris – I enjoyed the warm up – we had to spell Christmas!

HALLOWEEN!

We had a great time at the school disco.

Lacey – It was fun and we all got to dance.

Homework

Bella, Keris, Georgie, Eva, Shantelle, Mason and Lewis Duckworth shared some of their homework this month. We enjoyed looking at it.

It would be great to see some more homework completed by more members of the class next month.

School Birthday Celebrations

Keris – I enjoyed researching the 1970s on the laptop. The fashion was long dresses and mini skirts.
