PRIMARY 3 AND 4/3 – ANIMAL FACE SANDWICHES
We have just started our topic on Animals around the World. Â So far we have identified the major continents and oceans of the world and have classified animals into groups. Â We have also investigated animal habitats all over the world.
For writing we thought it would be great fun to do a practical activity before we started our writing. Â We made an animal face sandwich. After we made our sandwich we wrote instructions to show how we made it.
Don’t they look amazing!! Â The children were very proud of their work.
P7/6 make paper mache volcanoes!
As part of our Natural Disasters topic, P7/6 have been looking into the different parts of a volcano and researching Volcanic eruptions. We made information leaflets about the story of Pompeii and we created 3D paper mache volcanoes. We can’t wait until they dry and we get to paint them and make them erupt!

P7- The Sun is out- Time for the Solar power circuit challenge
The sun was shining bright on Boghall this week. It was time for the solar power circuit challenge. Pupils were given a box of materials and set the challenge to build a circuit using solar energy to make the propellor and buzzer work. We observed and recorded what we did and shared our findings and conclusions with the class.
Fundraiser for Rachel House, Kinross
Well done to Alistair, Amy, Megan, Emma, Amy and Kassia for organising the dress down day in school this morning.
They also sold cakes.  They were very efficient !  The amount raised was a fantastic £301.20 – this amount will be added to the amount raised tomorrow.
We hope that they have a very successful Coffee Morning and Sponsored Walk at the Church tomorrow – we hope the sun keeps shining !

Outdoor phonics in P3
Summer’s here!
Primary 5 have been making the most of the lovely warm weather this week and have enjoyed some outdoor learning. Â They went on a nature walk around the school grounds and made lovely bracelets using all the colourful things that nature had to offer.
They also took their spelling lesson outside, using chalk to practise their tricky words!
People who help us by p1
For the last few weeks, primary 1 have been visited by a number of people talking about their jobs. First we met Mrs Hepburn who is a dental nurse and she told us all about how to look after our teeth and what her job involves. It was so interesting!
The week after we had a visit from Chloe’s mum who is a paramedic. She and another paramedic showed us all the different tools they use, took some of our heart beats and let us try on some of their outfits. They even brought in an ambulance! It was so much fun and we found out loads!
We were then lucky enough to have a visit from Oliver’s dad who is a policeman. He came in and told us about his job as part of the traffic police. It was amazing to hear about what he does and see the flashing lights on the car!
Last week we had a visit from Ethan’s mum who is a radiographer. It was so cool to see all the bones on some of the x-rays she brought along! It is so clever that a big camera can see through your skin and into your bones! We learned we have 206 bones in our body! WOW!
Thank you all so much for giving us some of your time! We really appreciate it! From P1a and p1b.
