Boghall netball team yesterday won the 3rd and final netball festival of the year yesterday at Simpsons Primary. They played superbly well and were a fantastic representation of the school. The team have played well all year and have won the previous 2 festivals. In addition to the the league trophy, they also won the Newland’s Day trophy. The team were extremely happy with their medals and are looking forward to taking part in the West Lothian netball festival later this month.
The netball team are training hard for the forthcoming netball festival. Â We have been practicing every Tuesday over the past few weeks. Â We have been learning to develop our netball skills including ball control, defending and shooting. We have been supplied with new training bibs. Â Do you like them?
Primary 3 have just started their new topic on the Romans. Â They have looked at how Rome got its name through the story of Romulus and Remus. Â They have also found out that Rome is built on seven hills. Â They created paper mache models of the seven hills and the River Tiber and painted them. Â They think they look very effective.
All pupils at Boghall took part in different masterclasses yesterday. These pupils were enjoying taking part in netball. They watched some videos on the rules and how to play, then they designed their own sports strip. They then played some games and finally we had a mini tournament. All pupils seemed to enjoy themselves and well done to Arran Marr and Lewis Flockhart who were named the star players on the day.
The Boghall Primary netball team participated in their first festival of the year this week. It was held in Boghall and teams from St Marys, Balbardie and Simpson came along. All players really enjoyed the afternoon and Boghall came third. The points will be carried over to the next festival, held at Simpson Primary in February.
Well done to Boghall Primary netball team who won the Newland’s shield at yesterday’s netball festival. They attend three festivals every year along with other teams from Bathgate and surrounding areas. The results are all added together and overall Boghall came second. They were the first Bathgate team and so won the Newland’s shield. This is the first time since 1995 that Boghall have won the shield. The players, who were all P7s were delighted to have come second and to have won the shield. They have been training every week at after school club and all their hard work and perseverance has paid off. Well done to everyone who attends the netball after school club and particularly those who were playing at the festival yesterday.
