Neurodiversity

One of our school’s core values in is inclusion. Inclusion means to respect and accept other’s differences and celebrate how these differences enrich our school community. We foster an inclusive environment at Braehead and each year we take part in Neurodiversity Celebration Week.

To celebrate Neurodiversity we engage in whole class learning, listen to presentations from Neurodiverse peers, create artwork, read and share Neurodiversity themed books and celebrate all our learning with whole school assemblies.

Each year the Mission Dyslexia group and Tech Team launch their latest project for the school to see. In the academic year 2021-2022 the Mission Dyslexia group created a stop motion animation.

In the 2022-2023 academic year the Tech Team launched their Neurodiversity website. Our school is immensely proud of the hard work they put in and the polished and professional website that they created.

The website is complete with hand-drawn banners, researched information, videos, galleries of Neurodiverse people and even social buttons. The Tech Team created a gallery page of books, films and TV shows that have Neurodiverse characters.
