Sala in talks with Cardiff City FC as he comes to England. On the way to sign for the club as his plane crashed in the English Channel.

Before he got on his plane the club Cardiff City FC asked if he would rather get on a commercial flight which he rejected, as he got on to the plane at 19:45 pm he told his family by text “If the plane crashes don’t come looking for me.” later that evening the plane lost connection at approximately 20:30pm. The plane that crashed in the Channel carrying the Cardiff City footballer Emiliano Sala fell thousands of feet in the space of 20 seconds after making a 180-degree turn.
Challenges
When Sala’s plane lost connection he sent voice messages to his team mates saying:
“I’m here on plane that looks like it’s about to fall apart… I am getting scared.”
The next night some Nantes FC fans held a vigil in loving memory for Emiliano Sala.
Finding Sala
The plane wreckage was found 220 ft under water in the English Channel near Guernsey on the 21st of January 2019.Efforts then began to recover and identify the body, though they were made more difficult by poor weather conditions. On Thursday, after the body was brought to Portland in Dorset by the Geo Ocean III boat, police confirmed it was that of the footballer.
While it could not raise the plane, the body said “extensive video record captured by the ROV is expected to provide valuable evidence for our safety investigation”. Investigators said they would produce an interim report on the crash by 21 February.
Manchester City’s Benjamin Mendy tweeted an image of Sala, while the Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappé wrote: “RIP Emi”.
Oumar Niasse, who is on loan to Cardiff City from Everton, tweeted: “RIP Emiliano Sala forever in our thoughts”.
