On the 7th of September, Catholics from all over the UK took part in the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage and Congress. Find out what the three day event involves.

“Adoremus 2018 will be a unique opportunity for the Church to gather and reflect on the centrality of the Eucharistic and particularly to explore the place of Eucharistic Adoration.”

This gathering was decided by the Bishops in the Spring Plenary meeting in 2016 and since then, all the planning has contributed to the momentous event.

WHAT IS EUCHARISTIC ADORATION

Eucharistic Adoration is an experience for believers, to be with Jesus while here on Earth. It constantly rejuvenates their inner strength to carry out their missionary duties. In typical situations, the local parish offers certain hours of Adoration where the body of Christ is exposed in the from of bread on the altar. Words cannot describe how special every moment is for anyone that spends time in front of the Most Holy Sacrament of the Altar. It is a vital part of being a Catholic, to be with Jesus for a few moments in front of him.

SIGNIFICANCE OF ADOREMUS 2018

It was in 1908 that the last Eucharistic Congress in the UK took place. Although the public Eucharistic procession did not take place according to reports. So essentially Adoremus 2018 is “the completion of the Congress of 2018”
