Beautiful creatures is an imaginative story written by Kamie Garcia and Margaret Stohl.
Casters, Incubuses, Seers, Keepers, Waywards, Sirens and Mortals keep the story moving. There is never a dull moment once Lena Duchanes moved to the small Southern town of Gatlin and at the same time, into Ethan Wates heart.
Ethan has lived a normal life, with Amma, his Dad, Mitchel, and his Mother, Lila at Wates Landing. However, when Lila dies of an unexplained accident, his father locks himself in the study and Amma becomes his carer.
Lena however is a Caster. Her life is split in two, your either dark or light. The only thing which is different about her family and other Caster families is that the Duchanes/Ravenwoods don’t get to choose their future when they’re 16. Lena has a very difficult decision to make as she doesn’t know herself yet. Her Mother and Father died in a crash (or so they say) when she was young so she lived with her ‘Gramma’ until they moved her to Gatlin with her Uncle Macon and her twisted family re-unites. Riley, the siren who turned dark, Larkin, the illusionist, who turned light and her Aunts.
As her Birthday draws nearer, and her 16th moon comes with it.
Choices must be made, lives will be lost and secrets will be revealed. There is a new twist on every page. Mystery throughout the book.
This is the first of a long series containing five books which continue the fantasy of Lena and Ethan and I must admit that I certainly can’t wait to read them! It was also made into a film in 2013 however, I don’t believe anything can beat reading this thrilling series.
