Halloween plans but no Halloween costume? Left your costume to the last minute? Or simply have no idea what to go as? Fear not, the Oystercatcher is here to help with 12 last minute Halloween costumes.
1.Cat
This is probably the most basic costume ever, but hey, it’s easy enough to put together and to pull off. For this look you’ll simply want to dress in all black, grab your nearest eyeliner pen, doodle some whiskers and a button nose on, and there you have it, you’re everyone’s favourite household pet. Simple. Maybe even add some fluffy ears if you’re up for it.
2. Barbie
This costume is very easy to put together and undoubtedly very pink. In short, just gather all the clothes you have in various shades of pink, pile them on and add as much jewellery as you possibly can; the shinier the better. Throw on some bright pink lipstick and a blonde wig if you have it lying around, and hey presto, you’re Barbie! If you’re feeling really creative you can even make a person sized doll box as shown below!
3. Murder Victim
This next costume is considerably spookier than the last two. All you’ll need for this is a white t-shirt, which you’ll then have to rip, just a little bit though, and then add some red paint to it, or, if your short on that, tomato sauce is just fine. You’ll probably want to add some red paint/tomato sauce coming out of your neck and mouth too, for dramatic effect an’ all. As you can see, Ariana Grande made a very good job of this costume a few years back, if I do say so myself.
4. Army Soldier
An army costume is a very good DIY last minute idea, because it’s really easy to whip up. Just grab whatever camouflage clothing you own, even a toy gun if you have it, and then just doodle some black stripes on your cheeks with eyeliner. See? Easy.
5. Bambi
For this costume you’re going to want to put on a brown top and some jeans, focusing mainly on the face paint. You’ll then take your eyeliner and draw a ‘lil’ button nose with a line to your upper lip and then colour your top lip in black too. Then do some heavy contouring and dot your face with lil white spots. To complete the look add some antlers, and if you get stuck just Google Bambi makeup tutorial on youtube, its that easy folks.
6. Spy
This one’s so easy. Just dress in all black, preferably in a leather jacket, and have a suspicious facial expression on all night. That’s it. That’s the costume. Pro tip, if someone asks you what you are, just stare off into the distance with a wistful expression, adds to the dramatic effect of being a spy, you know. If you’re up for it, you can even add some sunglasses.
7. Mummy
The mummy is also a very easy, and very cheap, Halloween costume to pull off. Gather your friends to help you wrap yourself from head to toe in toilet paper, and boom, you have yourself a DIY costume.
8. Agnes from Despicable Me
This next one’s very cute and also very original. Style your hair up into two ponytails, pull on some dungarees and carry about a soft toy with you and continuously scream “IT”S SO FLUFFY!!” If there’s a best costume competition, you’re basically guaranteed to win it with this one, I mean c’mon.
9. Baby
Arguably the cutest and funniest costume on the list, the baby is a classic. Zip yourself up into a onesie, grab a dummy and if you’re feeling up to it, even throw a teddy bear into the mixture.
10. Devil
This ones also one of the scarier options to go for and all you’re gonna need for this is all red clothes and some red horns. If you’re feeling like going the extra mile even add some “blood” coming out of your mouth and rustle up a red pitchfork from somewhere.
11. Ghost
This ones probably my fave, and all your gonna be required to do for this classic, is grab a white sheet and cut some eye holes out of it. Genius, am I right??
12. Princess/Prince
Put on your prettiest dress or your fanciest suit and add a tiara or crown to complete this regal costume. That’s all there is to it. Amazing? I know.
That’s all we have for this Halloween, so happy Hallows eve and remember to be safe!
