As Mrs Agnew retirement leaves a huge gap to be filled – Deputy Head and Head of S2. Maths and guidance teacher, Mr Cresswell, became the obvious man for the job. Many of us think that Mr Cresswell will achieve many things throughout his career.
Although Mrs Agnew’s retirement is very upsetting as she has been an inspiration to our year and many more throughout the school, Mr Cresswell will fill the role perfectly and help us all the same.
Mrs Agnew started out as an english teacher before her promotion to a head of year in St Andrew’s and St Brides High School. She has recently seen her sixth year group, who she has helped and nurtured throughout their years of school, move on to college, university or positions in the world of work.
Undoubtedly his promotion is an amazing achievement, however, some of Mr Cresswell’s classes are not too happy with this change as that means he will not be their maths teacher anymore and can only take a few selected classes that have yet to be announced. All who have had Mr Cresswell as a maths teacher throughout their school career can certainly say that he has provided much help and reassurance with many laughs a long the way.
His first assembly is much anticipated and is taking place very soon, possibly the Monday after our October week.
We look forward to seeing what Mr Cresswell can bring to this role as our new Head of Year. We hope you’re up for many more sponges coming you’re way…
