Whispers of nuclear war erupt all over again as North Korea successfully conducted a hydrogen-bomb test in the early hours of the morning on Sunday.
A diplomat of the country has described these missiles as a warning to the Trump administration if it proceeds with further “reckless provocations”, to which the current presidential administration threatened a “massive military response” while also accusing the North Korean regime of “Begging for war”.
Even Vladimir Putin, a well-known ally to Donald Trump, has commented on the situation warning of “complete planetary catastrophe”. South Korea also added predictions of further missile tests as repercussions of America’s defence deployment and exercises.
Tension is running high as this hydrogen test came days after Japan witnessed a prototype missile plummet into the sea after leaving North Korea – obviously on the orders of its war-hungry dictator Kim Jong Un.
North Korea boastfully claims that this tested hydrogen bomb can be loaded onto a long-range missile for a devastating international attack. Multiple countries, including Russia and China, have condemned what is the sixth nuclear test commenced by North Korea.
Even UK prime minister, Theresa May commented by saying that this experiment was an “unacceptable further threat to the international community”. Many other world leaders also backed up these statements, registering their deep concern.
So what are these leaders doing to diffuse North Korea’s nuclear craze and out of hand situation?
For one, Mrs May held a meeting with the Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to discuss taking ‘urgent action’ and the required involvement of the United Nations. While the UN has not currently commented on the situation, it is almost certain that if things get any more out of control than they already are, the UN will be forced to step in to manage the crisis.
And for the sake of humanity not being wiped out in a brutal nuclear battle, we better hope they do get involved – and do indeed come up with something to stop this geopolitical madness.
