Entertainment veteran and TV legend Sir Bruce Forsyth has tragically passed away at the age of 89.
Described as a ‘national treasure,’ the iconic host of Strictly Come Dancing departs the TV scene with the World Record for longest on-screen television career, as well as a legacy which will certainly remain in the history books.
Making Saturday nights great again, the entertainer would never be seen without an ear-to-ear grin or an arsenal of tongue-in-cheek jokes.
His comedic flair and on-screen presence will be sorely missed by all, but his Strictly Co-Host, Tess Daly, felt especially emotional. On recalling their work relationship, Daly described how the pair “Did nothing but laugh our way through a decade of working together,” and detailing him as “a gentleman and a true legend.”
It will likely be some time before the successor of Forsyth reaches the epitome of entertainment established by the legend himself. Regardless, his gifts to the TV industry will remain as some of the most treasured of all time.
