Stagecoach is a performing arts school that has great benefits for children and young people of all ages. It is essentially a drama club that teaches you a variety of skills including acting, singing, dancing and stage presence.
There are lots of classes across the UK, but in Scotland there are class in East Kibride, Newton Mearns and Milngavie.
you can attend classes between the ages of 6 and 18. Each student is given the opportunity to showcase their talents in front of an audience through stage performances. Sometimes students are asked to audition for some famous performances such as Joseph and his Technicolor Dreamcoat or an inspector calls.
You can join the Stagecoach agency and get your very own agent. This will help students get jobs on professional sets. For example Lewis Baxter, a young Scottish actor, has been in many feature films and was nominated for a Scottish BAFTA for best male actor. Hazel Baxter (Lewis’ Mum) explained ” The Stagecoach agency has given Lewis so many amazing opportunities and we are excited for what lies ahead.”
Holiday workshops take place during the summer holidays. A show is rehearsed and students do a live performance for their friends and family. The shows are of a high quality and over the years performances have included Matilda, Into the Woods, and The Witches. The workshops are open to all children whether they attend Stagecoach in a normal term time or not. It gives young people a chance to work on their acting skills.
Stagecoach also offers parties where young people can practice and perform a show during the party. Victoria Steven one of the guests at the party, exclaimed that ” It has to be one of the best parties I have ever been to.”
Stagecoach helps all children and believes in their potential. Go and build your confidence at Stagecoach.
