Reception at the Edinburgh Corn Exchange for the notorious indie rockers was without a doubt enthusiastic. Fans from around Scotland dedicated their money and a great deal of effort in making their way to be spectators in this thrilling and intoxicating performance.

The crowd were completely mesmerised by both the stars of the show and the support act, ‘The London Souls’, who above all proved that they are capable of performing in front of an audience hungry for fantastic music. Their electrifying guitar solos and funky drum beats were more than was needed to keep the crowd’s excitement for the main act.

The interval between the support and the main act was as rousing as the rest of the gig, with the crowd both eagerly chanting “Here we go,” and singing along to the interval music with as much passion as they did waiting outside in the queue; which to put in to perspective is the amount of enthusiasm that ‘Beatles’ fans would bring. Even the tech team for the band were getting cheers and the famous Larry was getting cheered for as he set up the guitars and bass.

The crowd screamed their hearts content when the prestigious band came on.

They sang their outstanding debut album, ‘The Balcony’ and opened with ‘Rango’, a fm favourite. Although ‘Rango’ is a fan favourite, from speaking to many fans about there favourite song, the answers covered their whole album, demonstrating how phenomenal the band are. Their expertise did not lack in their live performance either. Fans left fulfilled and awestruck and eager for more. The night truly was a night to remember, not only for the great live performance of superb music, but from the dedication of the fans which elevated the atmosphere to a whole new level. But as they say, all good things come to an end – but Scotland will be awaiting another round of exceptional music from the esteemed ‘Catfish and the Bottlemen.’

10/10
