Here are your learning tasks for the week. Remember, these are just suggestions so you do not have to complete everything.

Alice in Wonderland Escape Room
Did you enjoy the Harry Potter activity last week? I have another one for you to try. If Harry Potter isn’t your thing, I’ve included an activity related to a Disney song and another related to Superheroes. You can choose which one to do or you can do all three, it’s up to you.
HP and the Philosopher’s Stone
Pobble 365 – choose a day (or more than one if you want) and complete some of the activities.
Please try and spend some time reading a book of your choice too, even for 10 minutes each day.
Spelling:
Gold and Silver group – you both have a spelling rule to look at. As well as the two activities above you could use your words in a paragraph, test an adult, rainbow writing or writing the definitions.
Bronze group – you have the phoneme ‘se’. For your activities, you could test an adult, rainbow writing, bubble writing, write the definitions, create a wordsearch or write sentences using your words.
Writing: Continue with your Lockdown Story competition. Remember to send me any entries (gw16pantonjennifer@glow.sch.uk) The closing date is 29th June so you can send me your entries up until then.

Topic: Topic this week is all about food! I’m going to set you a creative challenge next week but you have to do the research first.
Lots of chefs work in very fancy restaurants and work hard to earn Michelin Stars. A chef can be awarded between 0 + 3 stars and how many stars they get depends on the quality of the food, the techniques used and the personality of the chef. Andrew Fairlie was a Scottish chef who managed to earn 2 Michelin Stars. Here is an example of the menu from his restaurant:
The menu might include words you’ve never heard of. There are many different techniques used in cooking and many different ways to present food. Sometimes really simple things have really fancy sounding names. (I know a few because I watch Masterchef far too much!) So this week, can you tell the difference between a ‘jus’ and a ‘bisque’? Have a look at the following Powerpoint, now there are lots of different techniques included so take your time with them. Look at how some of the food is presented and how it is described.
Here are some clips from Masterchef to help you understand some of the techniques:
Art: Following on from your research around food, can you make a teacake look good? Have a look at these pictures and see if you can create something similar, or even better! Remember, if you attempt this, please send me a picture as I would love to see how you get on!
ICT: Continue with the Nature in your Neighbourhood competition.

HWB: Have you decided what you want to be when you grow up yet? When I was your age I wanted to be a vet…until I realised you’d have to actually operate on animals and not just pet them all day. There are so, so many things that you could do and it’s hard to try and decide. I have included two quizzes to help you think about what you might want to do. The first quiz is all about your own interests:
The next quiz asks you to pick between two options and at the end gives you an animal you are most like and some ideas for jobs you might like.
Afterwards you could even do a bit of research on your favourite career!
Science: Science challenges

Non-Screen time: non screen activities
Have a good week everyone, and if you have any questions leave me a comment and I will get back to you.
