My Summer Holidays 2014

Me Phoebe and Rosie went to the Clickimin to go swimming. We were in for 2 hours when we came out and got changed. We went to the toy shop Phoebe got a squashy moshi, Rosie got a moshi bracelet and I got a moshi bracelet as well as my little sisters. After we went to a café it was called the Havley.

I also went swimming with Anne, Abby and Emer my little sister in Mid Yell. We played dodge ball in the pool and catchy. Then we went out and got ready for the bouncy castle. We had to go in group Emer was yellow, Abby and I were red. For tea we went all the way to the Gutcher Goose café, but then it was shut so we went down to Mid Yell to the shop to get a sandwich.

I went to the beach with my big cousin Lisa and Brydon and my little sisters Emer and Lily, Kerry came along too. Me and Kerry went swimming in the sea it was FREEZING but we did not care. We came out for a snack Kerry brought Sweeties and I brought Digestives. Lisa took a photo of me with a sand mermaid tail.

I had a sleepover at Phoebe and Rosie’s house. It was very funny. We only went to bed at eleven o’clock and felt tired at one. The next day we went to the play park.

We went to Frankie’s with Abby, Kerry, Anne and Emer. When we got there we went to a little shop called Dis and Dat. Me and Kerry treated ourselves to two pairs of earrings. One of my pairs was skulls and the other ones were pink dog paws, Kerry got pink hearts and monkeys. Abby and Emer got small scarves. Emer also got a golden pot, and she could fit her scarf in it, Abby also got a pink cat necklace. Then we went to Frankie’s fish and chips Shop. Me and Kerry had a Shmoo milkshake and sausage and chips kiddy box, Abby and Emer had tuna baguettes. After Me, Abby and Emer had chocolate ice cream, Kerry had Sticky toffee pudding and Anne had cappuccino ice cream.

My Cousin Josie and I had a sleepover at my Nanny’s house. The next day we went to my house and played.

Me and my other cousins Maddie and Merin also had a sleepover at my Nanny’s house. Maddie and I did face masks and made loom bands.

My mum had to make wedding decorations, so we had to go and help put up the decorations. We went to help hang them and I helped make them as well. The decorations I helped make were string balls (sting balloons).

I got nominated to do the ice bucket challenge Maddie nominated Me.

I have spent my holidays at home with my family.

I have really enjoyed my holidays and I can’t wait till the next one.

We went to Aberdeen on the 4^th of August. We flew from Scatsta airport. We checked in and we had to go through an x-ray.  In the departures we sat down to wait for the plane. I saw a plane come in.  When we got on the plane I sat next to Melissa and I had a drink of water. When we arrived in Aberdeen we got on a bus to go to Union Square. We went to see some of the shops in Union Square and on the street. When we got to our apartment we got the code to our apartment room. We kept the code on dad’s phone so we did not forget it. We looked around the apartment. There were 2 bedrooms and a bathroom, a sitting room and a kitchen. We went to the Bon Accord Centre and we went into Build a Bear Work Shop where we bought cloths for our bears. After that we went to the Disney Store. We just had a look in there. Then we went upstairs to more shops. We went back to our apartment and we dropped off all the bags because we had a lot of shopping. We went back on the street and we went to Mcdonalds for dinner. I had chicken nuggets and chips and I got a toy with it.  We went back into the apartment. The next day we went to Toys R Us. I got a Monster High Doll. Neil found a big car and he wanted to take it home but it was too big for the plane. We also went to Codonas we got on a bus to go to Codonas we did not go on a rollercoaster because it was raining. We went to the claw machine which had minion toys in it. We nearly got the minion toy but it went into the other side. Melissa was not happy. We also went to Asda where we bought new clothes. We spent ages in there but we did not get food.  We went to the airport on the last day. Before we went to the Airport we went to Union Square. We went to some clothes shops to buy new clothes. We were all hungry so we went for lunch in pizza hut. The food was yummy we had a big pizza for the family.  In the afternoon we went by bus to the airport. We had 3 heavy suit cases full of clothes and shopping. When we got home I felt very relieved and happy. I enjoyed my trip away.

The Beach

I went to the beach with my Dad, my sister Lucy and her friends Jayde and Nicole. So my Dad, Lucy and I got in the car to go and pick up Jayde and Nicole who were walking down from Nicole’s house.  When we got them we headed off to Westsandwick beach we stopped at Ulsta shop for an ice lolly. Then we carried on with our journey. When we got there we met Lisa, Brydon, Honor, Emer and Lily. Lucy, Nicole and Jayde ran into the dunes because they had to get changed into their swimming costumes.  Honor, Emer and I had already changed into our swimming suits at home and just stuck something on  quickly overtop so we took it off and went swimming in the sea. Emer just paddled, it was cold to start off with and then it got warmer then me and Honor went into the dune to get changed out of our swimming suits and put on our clothes then we went home. We had a great time and can’t wait to do it again.

Frankie’s

Honor, Abby, Emer, Anne and I went to a trip to Brae so we got the half three ferry and drove to Brae when we got there we went to a little shop called Dis and Dat. Honor and I got earrings I got little pink hearts with gem in the corners I also got a pair that were monkey faces Honor got paw print ones and skull and crossbones. Abby and Emer got scarves and Emer got a tub and Abby got a necklace. Then we went to Frankie’s the worlds 2^nd best chip shop we went inside just in the nick of time because it started rain the second we got in our seats. We ordered; Honor and I had a Chocolate Shmoo with whipped cream and chocolate flakes and a sausage kiddy box supper, Emer and Abby had a tuna baguette and Anne had a chicken baguette.  When we had finished we had pudding I had sticky toffee pudding and vanilla ice cream.  Honor, Emer and Abby had chocolate ice cream and Anne had cappuccino ice cream which was very yummy. We headed home, when we got back to Burravoe Honor and Emer played with Abby and me at our Granny’s then they went home. We all had a great day!

Swimming in Lerwick

My Mum, my Dad, Lucy and I went to Lerwick to go swimming but we had a couple more things to do first. Dad drove to The Toll Clock where he dropped Mum, Lucy and me off. So we went inside Dad went to go and buy a wheel barrow then at 12:00 we went to the swimming pool. When we got in the pool we went in the rapids and I tried to swim away but the rapids pulled me back then Dad helped me out and I swam in the big pool and swam a bit and then my goggles started letting water in because it had a leak in them so I couldn’t use them. Then soon it was time to come out and dry up and have our lunch I had a chicken burger and fries, Lucy had a beef burger and fries mum had a chicken burger with cheese and fries and Dad had a chicken burger too. We all had a good day.

Lerwick

Lucy, Jayde, Dad and I went to Lerwick and Jayde stayed for a sleep over at our house the day before we went to Lerwick. When we got up the next day we caught the ferry when we got to Lerwick Dad parked at the pier and unhooked the boat then me, Lucy and Jayde went to the peerie shop where I got a wreck this journal everywhere. After that we went to the pharmacy the Shetland soap shop the we went to boots and also Harry’s, Conochies and Universal stores then we went back to the pier to wait for Dad when he came we went to the Chinese for lunch after that we went home when we got back to Burravoe we did loom bands then Jayde went home.

On Friday the 1st it was Derek and Elena’s wedding. My hairdresser Carris came to our house to do up my hair. I got it up in a bun on the side of my head and in had a pleat at the side and I got twist in gems to put in it. Sofia was a flower girl and she got her hair done and so did Mam. We went straight up to Unst and we stayed in the Saxaford houses. They were really good! We went to the kirk and we were there for about 2 hours. The person who was playing organ’s keyboard broke while in the process of changing the keyboard setting to the organ. It took ages but it was really funny. After the service then we went outside and threw confetti at them and gave them their horse shoe. When we went to the hall for the meal we got love hearts and ring Haribos. My auntie said the grace and then we ate. Me, Melissa, Bradley, Leah, Neil, Conrad and Kieran were playing in the entrance. I had a dance with my cousin who was a best man and then it was coming to the end and everyone did Auld Lang Syne. My head was sore at the end because I had to have all of my hair held together with 48 kirby grips.

On the second day I went to play fiddle to Bill and Thelma. After that Lisa, Daryl and Daniel came to visit. It was funny because most of the people staying in the houses were from Yell for the wedding so we went to play with them. My cousins and my Granny and Daa were staying next door to us. When it was time to go to the hall at 8.00pm then it was pretty much the same as the night before. At mid night then we all sang Happy Birthday to Kim because it was her 18^th birthday. The best men made her up a horrible cocktail for her. It was a late night.

When I woke up I had to rush down to my house to pack and then go to Lerwick because it was Fiddle Frenzy!

I was staying at my friend Anya’s house all week. It was late nights and early rises every day. The tutors I got were Bethany and Jenna Reid (the organisers), Maggie Adamson, Jenny Keldie, Lois Nicol and Catriona MacDonald. We went to Mareel at 9.30am and did a practise for the final concert until 10.00am. Me, Anya, Louise and Emma normally were next to each other. I was in the intermediate group as was Anya. We went straight to the lesson after the practise. It was lessons from 10.00-11.00 and then there was a half a hour break then it was 11.30-12.30 then it was a hour and a half break for lunch and then it was 2.00-3.00 then half an hour then it was 3.00-4.00. There were concerts every night and I went to them all. The concerts usually started at 8.30 and finished at 10.00.

I went to Fiddle Frenzy last year and really enjoyed it and I will be looking forward to Fiddle Frenzy 2015!

Here is a video of some on the Students playing at the Sumburgh Lighthouse. We had to carry our fiddles on our back all the way up the hill and all through the Lighthouse but it was well worth it in the end.

We have had a postcard from Kemba Noel-London, the Trinidad and Tobago hockey team medic and an email with photos from Andrey Rocke, the hockey team goalkeeper to say how much they liked having the posters in their rooms!

Swimming With Mum Honor and Emer

In the summer holidays I went swimming with my mum, Honor and Emer. When we got to the Mid yell Leisure Centre we put our swimming suits on and our goggles and went in the pool. It was freezing cold but when we got swimming it was not so bad. In the pool we played catchy but you had to swim instead of run which was quite hard but fun. We also played a funny hair game and lot of other funny games. When we had to get out of the pool it was even colder than when we got in. When we got changed we went to the bouncy castle ourselves because mum was still changing. We got coloured bands to show when we went on. When mum had finished changing we went to the vending machine and got sweeties. Soon after that it was time to go for lunch. So we drove to the Gutcher Goose Café. Along the way we saw ponies. When we got to the Gutcher Goose Café it was just closed and we were all so hungry. So we went to links house to get a sandwich. On the way back we went to Aywick shop to get fuel so we got sweeties. They were yummy. We got to Honor’s house after a long drive. When mum and I got home we took out the swimming bags and we had Emer and Honors swimming bags.

We went to Brae then we got to the Hoky pitch and I went to the leisure  center we were on the bouncy castle  in the suach cort and I was at the play park I was in the car I was driving in the be tent car and I went back to the leisure center and I went in the bounsey castle and we went to the play park I went on the slide and I went in the car I riving the car and I wen in the house and I had lunch and I had fruit and we went to the hoky pitch.

Last night we had a school concert. We preformed Minnie ‘o shirvas cradle sang, individual peaces, our animations, Peerie Mix and then the song we made up. At the music festival we won a gold plus for Minnie ‘o shirvas cradle sang. Kerry, Mia, Melissa, Abby and me. It was an amazing night every one enjoyed it.
