Cilla’s and Elaine’s Exhibition at the Old Haa
We went to the Old Haa at the Old Haa there was an special opening for us. The new exhibition was Cilla’s and Elaine’s pictures. They came later, and we were allowed to ask questions, and they would answer us. They showed us how to draw things we did not know. They gave us piece, these are some things they gave us, Laughing Cow cheese, Bounty balls and some kind of rolls and loads of other things. They also gave us apple juice and water. Cilla gave me a hand of help with the last picture. I copied it. Elaine showed us some pictures. We got to hold the pictures.

My Yell Show Day and Enteries 2016
I entered 4 things in to the Yell Show this year. I entered my novelty chocolate cake, my Hamabead lion and 2 of my portraits. On the day I we went to the main hall to see how I did with my baking and crafts. I was really happy to see that my cake had gotten 3rd prize! Thats the highest I’ve received in my baking so I was really pleased with that. On my Hamabeads I got 2nd! Again I was really happy with that. On my pictures I got well dones. Then I went into the photography and vegetables shed to see how the school vegetables had done. I saw Phoebe and sneaked up behind her and scared her. With Phoebe we went to see how the school vegetables did. Then we went to get slushies, we both got blue ones. We went for a walk to see the sheep and met Ms Breyley. An hour later we went to get more slushies with Abby, Rosie and Emer. Once we had drunk them we all went on the bouncy castle. 10 minutes later and Phoebe and Rosie had to go home so Abby, Emer and I went into the ball pool for ages. It was such a fun day and I was really happy with my cake and crafts and I can’t wait until next year!

The Yell Show
At the Yell Show I entered some Hamabeads that I did Elsa and Anna from the film Frozen. Anna got a first and Elsa got a well done (a well done is after third) . I found Abby, we went in the ball pool and we went on the bouncy castle. Honor, Abby, Phoebe and I got slushies that were red and blue in one, it lost its flavour after a while. We got chicken kebabs. We went in the lucky dip I got an inflatable butterfly and a butterfly and put stickers on it. We looked at our vegetables from the school we got quite a lot of prizes, we got a bit of everything.

Old Scatness
We went to Sumburgh on 31/08/16 it was really fun that day we also went to Jarlshof but that is a different post. When we went, we parked outside and we had our piece. We walked up the road into the visitor center. Inside the visitor center we passed costumes and post cards. Then we spoke to the archaeologist and we exchanged names, his name was Chris after that he asked us if we’re good at puzzles. We were, we did the puzzle quite quick, it was a puzzle of a time line from Stone Age to now. Then we went outside into what was a reconstruction of an Iron age house it had skins of animals that were really comfy there was a small lit fire in the middle of the room but the fire was smoking, there was an Iron Age style pot above the fire. We talked about if we would be able to live in there for a week if so what would we do, we said we could draw on the stone walls with charcoal or get leaves wood and sticks for the fire and some other things. We went back out side and looked at the real houses but they are really old and they didn’t have roofs. After that we played a Viking game with logs and sticks the logs you had to hit down, they were five logs for both teams and one middle log, you had to hit the middle log when the rest were knocked down. Then we got dressed in helmets and shields and took photos.

Trip to Old Scatness and Jarlshof
We went to Old Scatness because we are learning about Early Man. We built a timeline jigsaw. We went to where they lived in prehistoric times. We played games that they used to play. Their were a fire in the house that the people cooked with the fire and light up the house. We tried the costumes they wore at the time. We looked at their stones that they used and the people’s art. They used stones to make the pictures. We went to Jarlshof to see more houses they lived in. We went inside the houses. We went on a balcony to look at other houses. We saw what they do in their homes in the museum. They had flour and they grind the flour. We looked at the information about how they lived and what they did at home and what they did. They had holes with bones and stones. They were holes with a door on top. We saw half of the broch. There was stones outside the lairds house because it was for the people that were lost at sea.

Yell Show
At the Yell Show my brother and I first bounced on the bouncy castle, The bouncy castle had a little slide on the side of it, the bouncy castle was fun then after the bouncy castle we had Mr Stripy ice cream. Then we went to look at the animals there were cats, bunnies, chickens, dogs, sheep, cows and horses. We went in to the hall there were arts and crafts and homebakes, I put in some entries as well. Then we went to look at our schools vegetables they looked amazing. After all that watching we were very hungry so we had fish and chips. After I decided to go to the ball pool and loads of different other activities. I enjoyed it in the Yell Show it was so fun I already can’t wait until next year, and I think I did amazing with my entries.

The Yell Show 2016
This Saturday it was the Yell Show and it was really fun. I entered things in baking, crafts and flowers. In baking I entered my Victoria sponge, an iced chocolate sponge, iced cupcakes, non iced cupcakes and chocolate biscuits. I got 3rd for my Victoria sponge, I got 2nd for my iced sponge and for the rest I got well dones. I only entered 1 thing for the craft section and I only got a well done for my picture but that was okay because I enjoyed making it anyway. I entered a lot of flowers and most of my flowers were just well dones so I won’t list what prizes I got for them. The Yell Show wasn’t all competition there was a lot of others things to do apart from looking at entries. You could have an ice cream or a slushi, you could have food from the BBQ and you could have fish and chips. One of the most fun parts of the Yell Show was when I met up with Rosie, Honor, Emer and Phoebe and we had lots fun going in the ball pool, the bouncy castle and we ate slushies and they were really good.

My Gymnastics Classes
In the summer I went to some gymnastics classes that http://www.shetlandgymnasticsclub.org/ had run. They had a high beam, a low beam, an air track, a bouncier thinner air track, a block that we used as a vault and loads of mats. Upon the high beam we would do squat turns, jumps, round-off dismounts and straddle mounts. On to of the low beam we would do arabesques and more jumps. At the air track I would do round-off back handsprings and front handsprings. On the vault we would stand it up and do front handsprings over it. At the mats we would do back walkovers and cartwheels. After it ended the head coach of Shetland Gymnastics Club e-mailed my Mum to say that they would like me to train with them. I am so happy and now every Monday I go to gymnastics. So far I have done everything but my favourite is the air track. On the vault I am doing handsprings off of it, on air track I am doing bouncing back tucks with help, on floor I am doing back walkovers and on beam I am working on my cartwheels.

My Hamma beads Mermaids
On Saturday it was the Yell Show. I entered two Hama Bead mermaids. One was a Queen mermaid and the other one was a mermaid Princess. I got a well done on my Queen mermaid and a 3th prize on my mermaid Princess. I also went on the bounce castle and got a slushy. Then I went in the ball pool. I went in the ball pool with Rosie. People were losing there socks it was Quit funny. Then Rosie and Me went to the lucky dip. I tried twice but both times I got masks. I like the bounce castle the best. Think I did good this year with my Hama Beads mermaids.

Jarlshof
We went to Jarlshof and we went there to look at stone age buildings and we drew things that we saw. We went in old houses that they lived in.there were two bedrooms and a kitchen. We dressed up in clothes what they wore.We played a game some people threw a piece of wood to knock down blocks of wood.

Yell Show
At the Yell Show I made some rainbow cupcakes it had blue icing for the sky and sour rainbow sweets for a rainbow and marshmallows for clouds it was really fun.I was quit proud with what I had done. I had done a few practises and I eat them when I was finished they were delicious. with some of the practises I made differnt cakes too.
