Welcome back after our mid-term break.
In numeracy: we have been using concrete materials to learn the standard vertical written method for subtraction with and without exchange. We have also created tiled patterns using squares, rectangles, triangles and hexagons.
In literacy: we have been introduced to Procedure Text Type and the structure. It has been the c, k, ck, ch spelling patterns that we have worked on this week. In handwriting we have concentrated on the joins; an, ap and ar.
PE: we are working on gymnastic skills; we balanced, we learned different ways to rotate, and we learned different ways to travel. We also played some games like Shipwreck and Octopus.
Music: we named instruments and guessed what instrument was being played. We also tried to make long and short sounds with instruments.
World Thinking Day: On Tuesday 22nd February 2022 it was World Thinking Day and the Guide and Scout organisations think about their ‘brothers’ and ‘sisters’ all over the world. We posted a photo on Tuesday of whose dressed in their uniforms.
It was also Kingsland’s 12th birthday on 22.2.22 and we sang a birthday song.
Mr Harkins played some tunes on his guitar on Thursday and we got to choose what he played (if he knew it) We also did some mapping and located cities in Scotland.
Please bring in a book to read and possibly share with the class on Thursday 3rd March for World Book Day.
Please bring into class an empty plastic 2 litre bottle for art.
Many thanks
