Book Week Scotland @ Starbucks!

Primary 4/5 celebrated day 2 of Scottish Book Week with a trip to the newly opened Starbucks in Johnstone! They were treated to hot chocolates and Graeme, the store manager, read them an excerpt from ‘Horrid Henry’s Author Visit’ by author Francesca Simon. As you can see from the photos, the children were delighted with their treat, and were very grateful to Graeme and his staff for accommodating them!

Stay tuned for more Book Week Scotland updates throughout the week!

Anti bullying week P3

Primary 3 have had a busy day!

This morning they were creating recipes for a ‘Good Friend’ as we are promoting Anti-bullying week.

50g of respect”- Lily-Anne

“a sprinkle of glitter”- Gemma

“90g of love”- Hannah

“a spoonful of happiness”- Chichi

We then visited ‘Dream Island’ 🌴 where Emma shared with us wonderful picture books without words, we used our imagination to retell the stories in our own words.

Primary 3 had so much fun during this time and we will be using these books to write our own stories.

Come along to our next session at ‘Dream Island’ on Wednesday 21st November where each child will be gifted a ‘Read, write, count bag’

See you next week during ‘Book week Scotland’

I Am Me

Primary 1 and 2 had a great morning on board the Cinebus. We watched a movie called ‘My name is Charlie’ about a boy with Autism. We were able to discuss what we could do to help people like Charlie and enjoyed answering all the questions.

Anti-Bullying Survey

We are currently reviewing the way in which we deal with any incidents of bullying in our campus. We are going to be supported in this process by Brian Donnelly, who is a specialist in this area. He is not working for the school, council or government but is simply here to make sure we gather views from all our families, parents, pupils and staff in order to ensure that our Anti Bullying Policy is the perfect fit for West Johnstone Shared Campus.

A huge thanks go to those of you who attended the open parent/carer session with Brian today at the Lynnhurst Hotel. However, if you didn’t make it, we would still like to hear your views though our online survey. Please ensure you take a few minutes to share your opinions and ensure your voice is heard.

The survey can be accessed here: https://bit.ly/2QAs77v
