PATHS Programme for Schools

St David’s deliver the PATHS Programme for Schools (UK Version).  This is a social and emotional learning programme that teaches children about their emotions and facilitates the development of self control.  We work with a coach from Barnardo’s who helps us with delivery and as part of their role the coach gathers anonymised surveys to assess the impact of the programme.  Please read the attached privacy statement and contact our coach Katrina McGovern via email at katrina.mcgovern@barnardos.org.uk if you would not like your child to be included in any surveys or feedback activities.

P7 Visit to St Benedict’s HS

Tomorrow, Wednesday 16th June 2021, our P7 pupils will be visiting St Benedict’s HS as part of the transition programme before they move on to secondary education.

Pupils will leave from St David’s at the slightly earlier time of 9AM and will return to school in time for lunch. The pupils can expect to follow the timetable below:

Pupils should wear school uniform as normal – leavers’ hoodies are fine to wear as part of the uniform.

Pupils will have to wear a face covering on the bus to the school as well as inside the school and moving around between classes. In the morning, we can provide a disposable mask to all pupils or they are welcome to bring their own.

This afternoon the Primary 7 pupils had the chance to meet with our home link worker Ashley, and Marion from St Benedict’s to chat about their big move to high school.  They were able to ask questions and settle their nerves about moving on.

They are all feeling very excited and shared many things that they are looking forward to at St Benedict’s including science, art and vending machines!

P4-7 Renfrewshire PAThS Assembly

P4/5 and P6/7 took part in a Renfrewshire wide PAThS assembly with many other schools across the authority to talk about our feelings about returning to school.

We spoke as a class and shared our feelings/worries not only with our classmates but with other children across many other schools.  This allowed us to find out that our emotions are shared by many other people and it was good to find out that other people feel the same and have the same worries as us.

We also spoke about the power of teamwork and how by sharing our feelings and emotions we can be stronger as a team.
