Back to School….Out Having Fun
It was lovely to see the children back at school today! We worked hard all morning and Primary 1a even found some time to have fun in the snow before they went home!
Eco Update
Due to severe weather, it has been decided to postpone Eco week until after the Easter break. Hopefully by then, the weather will ve kinder to us!
NLC School Update
ST MICHAEL’S UPDATE
Main entrance to school and main fire exits have been cleared. All being well the school and nursery will be open tomorrow. Please keep checking NLC and our own social media sites for updates.
Nursery Applications Update
Due to nursery closures (local authority and private partners), the date for submitting nursery application forms has been extended to Friday 9 March 2018.
Weather Update
Latest news from NLC Headquarters is that due to the ongoing risk of the Amber weather warning until 10am tomorrow, all schools and centres will remain closed on Friday 2nd of March.
Hopefully things will calm over the weekend and we will be able to resume service as normal on Monday 5th March.

Winter Weather Update for 01.03.18
Due to the severe weather warnings, ALL schools and nurseries in North Lanarkshire will be CLOSED tomorrow (Thursday 1 March). Please continue to seek advice on travel and safety from the Met Office and Transport Scotland. #staysafe
World Book Day
To celebrate this and to encourage healthy reading habits we have a number of initiatives taking place in school this week.
- All pupils are being encouraged to bring their favourite book or books to school for silent reading time.
- “Stop everything and read bell” will ring at selected times during the week.
- Pupils will be encouraged to stop what they are doing and read for 10 minute slots.
- Paired reading activities, Primary 6 will join Primary 1 and Primary 7 will join Primary 2 for joint sessions.
- Drama related activities linked to reading books and stories.
Nursery Applications
NEW APPLICATION REMINDER
The closing date for nursery applications for August 2018 until June 2019 is this FRIDAY 2nd MARCH. Please ensure all applications are handed into the school office along with birth certificate and proof of address as soon as possible.
Please pass this information on to anyone with a child turning 3 next session.
