Primary 7/6 presented their personal projects today. Each pupil chose a place of interest, researched information on it, then presented it in their own words using pictures and illustrations to enhance their findings. Mrs McLennan was delighted and could see how hard people had worked. Well done P.7/6!
Curriculum Rationale
Tonight, we held a Parent workshop to discuss creating a Curriculum Rationale for our school. The Curriculum Rationale that will be developed, will be unique to our school and ensure that everyone within the school, parents, staff, pupils and community members are clear about what we are aiming to achieve through the curriculum.
The parents who took part in tonight’s workshop were asked to think about the following questions:
- What is it we want for our children?
- How are we going to achieve it?
The staff and children took part in a similar exercise and the views of all who took part, will be included in creating the Curriculum Rationale for the school.
Many thanks to all of the parents who took part tonight.
Malawian Music Marvels
Today, a group of our Primary 7 choir members, went to St Timothy’s Primary School in Coatbridge to work with Robin Cairns to write a song about Malawi. They worked with children from other primary schools also have a partnership with a school in Malawi. They shared their knowledge about they country and their experience of being a partner school.
Over the next few sessions, the children will continue to write the remainder of the song lyrics then work with a musician to add a melody. The song will be performed at the Learning Festival later in the school year.
