After School Clubs

We have had many children attending After School Clubs this term.  This is a reminder of the dates that these clubs will end.

Monday
Art club finished on 5th March.
Athletics will finish on 19th March
Upper school homework club finished 5th March
Infants homework club finishes 12th March

Tuesday
Fundamentals block 2 finishes 19th March
Singing club finishes 20th March

Wednesday
Tennis finishes 21st March
Infant homework club finishes 14th March

Mothers Day Coffee Morning takes place this Friday at 10am. Donations of raffle prizes and home baking on the day will be gratefully received. We look forward to welcoming you then.

Due to severe weather, it has been decided to postpone Eco week until after the Easter break. Hopefully by then, the weather will ve kinder to us!

ST MICHAEL’S UPDATE

Main entrance to school and main fire exits have been cleared. All being well the school and nursery will be open tomorrow. Please keep checking NLC and our own social media sites for updates.

Due to nursery closures (local authority and private partners), the date for submitting nursery application forms has been extended to Friday 9 March 2018.

Latest news from NLC Headquarters is that due to the ongoing risk of the Amber weather warning until 10am tomorrow, all schools and centres will remain closed on Friday 2nd of March.

Hopefully things will calm over the weekend and we will be able to resume service as normal on Monday 5th March.

Regular updates will appear here on our website and Twitter accounts.

Due to the severe weather warnings, ALL schools and nurseries in North Lanarkshire will be CLOSED tomorrow (Thursday 1 March). Please continue to seek advice on travel and safety from the Met Office and Transport Scotland. #staysafe

To celebrate this and to encourage healthy reading habits we have a number of initiatives taking place in school this week.

• All pupils are being encouraged to bring their favourite book or books to school for silent reading time.
• “Stop everything and read bell” will ring at selected times during the week.
• Pupils will be encouraged to stop what they are doing and read for 10 minute slots.
• Paired reading activities, Primary 6 will join Primary 1 and Primary 7 will join Primary 2 for joint sessions.
• Drama related activities linked to reading books and stories.
