P7 Graduation Arrangements

As you know, we are trying to make things as ‘celebratory’ as possible for our P7s as they reach the next milestone and leave us for pastures new.  We want to give them a great send off and are doing all we can to achieve this.

  • They are all wearing their Leavers’ Hoodies with pride – even in the blazing sun!
  • They have all contributed to and will feature in the P7 Yearbook.  This is with the printers and we hope to have them soon.  This will be our gift to them.
  • They will all be given a High School Tie from the Parent Council.
  • Friday 11th June 2021 – This will be their Pizza Party Day.  We have organised for a Pizza delivery (thanks to the Parent Council for funding this) and the party will begin at 12:30pm.  We will have food, snacks, drinks, music, dancing and lots of fun!  This will be a NON UNIFORM DAY for P7 only.
  • Graduation Ceremony – date TBC.  During the last week of term (when we would normally have our big evening celebration with the children) we will be holding a smaller scale Graduation Ceremony during the school day.  Children will be presented with their Medals and Certificates.  A date for this will be set this week, but we hope either 21st or 22nd.  Children should wear full school uniform on this day.  Unfortunately, we are not able to invite family members to attend this.  We will try to record at least some of it and share this event with you in some way, either with video or photographs or both!

I do hope that the Primary 7 children enjoy their last week or so with us.  It is important to us and to them!  I want to say a particular word of thanks to our Parents/Carers for the way in which you have supported us and accepted that we cannot have you with us at this time.  Those of you who have had children in P7 before will know that we would prefer to do things somewhat differently!  However, I feel that we are striking a good balance for the children.

I want to thank the staff for their support in pulling all of this together.

NEW FACEBOOK GROUP

You may have noticed that recently we took down our Facebook page. This was to help us address and review our security settings.  We have now decided to create a new, private “members only” Facebook group to share our information and photos. You can find the group by clicking on this link. Once you’re on the page, you need to click the button “Join Group”. You will have to answer questions about your child’s name, stage and teacher to be granted access. This is to ensure we know exactly who is on our page. Only the staff members responsible for the page can see these answers. You will also be asked to agree to the “Group Rules”. As soon as these answers have been moderated, your request will be approved. Please bear with us as we do this, as it may take just a wee bit of time.

We will use this group to share information, as well as continuing to use our website, app and Twitter pages.

Important Update

Catering Arrangements for Wednesday 28th April

Please note that, due to an issue beyond our control, there will be a reduced catering service on Wednesday 28th April.

Breakfast Club – This will run as normal, within the usual opening times.  However, there may be a change to the usual menu.

School Lunches – There will be NO HOT LUNCHES on offer.  Instead, soup and sandwiches will be offered.  Children can obviously still bring in their own Packed Lunches as normal.

We apologise for the inconvenience and are hopeful that normal service will resume by Thursday, but we will keep you informed.

School Facebook Page

The school Facebook Account has been frozen for the time being.  We are currently reviewing our security settings within the Facebook Page and this will require some adjustments to be made.  We will keep you informed of any changes  However, please continue to refer to this website and, of course, our school App is still available to download from your App Store for iPhone/Android/iPad/Tablet.
