Important Information – COVID19 & Flu Immunisation

Public Health Lanarkshire have asked us to draw your attention to the two letters below.  One is for the Nursery Class and the other is for the School.  Please take a moment to read through the relevant letter(s) as this will help you understand what the new procedures are if we experience a Positive Case in school or nursery.  This has changed significantly since last term.

With new COVID19 cases still classed as high in North Lanarkshire, I am asking for your continued support and careful attention when you are in and around the school gates.  Please continue to follow all of our procedures in order to keep children, staff and yourselves safe, particularly when gathering at the school gate.  Please remember that we as a school are simply following local and national government guidelines.

One the whole, most people have continued in the same ways as last year, so thank you for that!  Our new P1 Parents/Carers have adapted to our protocols well.

Schools are being more cautious than perhaps other aspects of life are being, due to the unique nature of the environment.  We want to have as few cases as possible and we want to remain in a position where our staff are healthy and able work with the children.

1. Letter for the new term – schools – August 2021 – NHSLanarkshire

2. Letter for the new term – nursery – August 2021 – NHSLanarkshire

In schools across North Lanarkshire, we are still following the FACTS guidance.  Please play your part and continue to support us with this.  This will hopefully mean an end to all school restrictions sooner rather than later!

FLU VACCINATION 2021

We will welcome the Vaccination Team to St John Paul II so that they can administer the Flu Vaccination to all children who are registered.  Letters were sent out this week in the children’s bags.  If you have not already done so, please return the form to school by Monday 23rd August as the NHS staff will collect these on Monday.  Only registered children will be able to have the vaccination.

If you have not received a letter, please contact the school office.

More information about the vaccine and about what to expect is available by following this link…
