I hope you had a lovely long weekend, what did you get up to? Here are some more home learning tasks for you.
Maths

Hexagons – Using your knowledge of different 2D shapes, draw at least 10 different 2D shapes and draw the line or lines of symmetry on each. You can make up your own shapes too and include their lines of symmetry. Make sure you say what shape it is and how many lines of symmetry it has as well as drawing them on the shape.

Revision – Addition See sheet for your group. You can use the written method or calculate mentally (don’t use a calculator).

Spelling Tasks for each group see below–
Spelling Group 6 = Using this week’s spelling words, choose the most suitable spelling strategy for each word. See the word file for the Active Literacy Spelling strategies (these are not the fun spelling strategies). Then create some sentences using your spelling words, they can be sensible or silly sentences. Spelling Group 6 Words May and June Spelling strategies Stage 6-7
Spelling Group 5 = Spelling Group 5 Words and Phonemes
- Create a phoneme table and put the words in the correct column (you should have the headings: au , o , a and aw).
- Choose a fun spelling strategy and complete for all words.
- Using your spelling words to write some silly sentences or create a sensible paragraph/paragraphs.
Spelling Group 3 = Use your spelling words to write some sentences. Remember to include capital letters and full stops. Try to write at least 8 sentences and use as many words as you can. You can use a word more than once. Spelling Group 3 Words and Phonemes
Reading – Read for at least 30 minutes every day and tell someone at home what you have read about. It could be a book you have at home or an article you have read online. If you want to, you can write a summary too.
