ECO Schools

Eco school awards is a Europe wide project designed to encourage whole-school action for the environment. It is a recognised award scheme rewarding and accrediting schools that have made a commitment to continuously improving environmental performance.

The Eco-School topics include Litter, Energy, Water, Waste Management, Healthy Living, Transport and School Grounds.

There are three levels of award: Bronze, Silver and the most top award which is the prestigious Green Flag.

Eco-Schools is a programme of sustainable improvement, therefore the award needs to be renewed every two years to ensure schools continue to follow an action plan and a programme of environmental projects and developments.
