The photographs above illustrate the fabulous talent that we have in St Bart’s! These girls have all received trophies for their skill in dance. Well done from all of your friends at St Bartholomew’s.

Our Primary 7 pupils all had a fantastic time in Kilbowie last week and their families were delighted to see them again, although perhaps not so delighted to see the piles of washing!

The week ahead looks like this…

On Tuesday, it’s the start of ‘Math’s Week’, our boys and girls will be competing in Sumdog competitions, in addition to a number of other exciting activities.Ms Doyle will be attending a numeracy course and we look forward to hearing about new initiatives.Five of our  P6 pupils will visit St Francis Xavier Church this afternoon in order to celebrate mass, as part of Missio celebrations. We are fortunate to welcome a former pupil, who will undertake a placement in our nursery as work experience. Mrs McLean will be attending a criteria led selection course later on this afternoon in order to be an interview panel member.

On Wednesday, Mrs Carlin will be attending a literacy course this morning and look forward to hearing about the latest initiatives from North Lanarkshire Council. Our pupil voice groups meet again today and we look forward to hearing about the implementation of previously discussed great ideas. The Chairperson from each group discussed some fabulous ideas at our previous business meeting and we look forward to finding out how these ideas will be implemented. Well done boys and girls! All of our teaching staff will attend seal training, after school, at St Augustine’s Primary in order to receive the most current information on this numeracy initiative. I will be  visiting P1/2 this morning to share in the children’s learning in literacy. I am very much looking forward to it.

On Thursday, Sally Wilkinson will be visiting our Primary 5 pupils for another Kodaly input. I know that the children are super excited to learn new skills. We look forward to welcoming a representative from Speech and Language Therapy today, who will be working with one of our younger pupils. You are most welcome.  Mrs McLean will be further enhancing her skills in data management at a course today. This is a very important element of tracking and monitoring pupil progress and we very much  appreciate the most up to date information. As part of Math’s week, Mrs McLean has organised for the Problem Solving Company to visit our pupils again. The same company delivered an interesting and engaging input last year, which the children thoroughly enjoyed. I am confident that the children will feel the same again this year! I will be attending the CHAPS conference today and tomorrow and look forward to hearing from interesting and inspiring speakers. I will keep you up to date on my return.

On Friday, Ms McLaughlin and Ms Duffy will both be attending the latest course in  writing from NLC. We look forward to hearing about new initiatives for our Primary 2 and Primary 3 pupils.  Our nursery children and Primary 1 to Primary 4 pupils will receive fluoride treatment today- healthy teeth are so important. Sponsor forms  for our annual Sponsored Walk will be issued today – please look out for them in school bags. Any donations will be very gratefully received as they contribute towards the huge subsidy that school trips receive and we are keen to continue this tradition.Thank you in advance for your support, it is much appreciated.
