Subject Ambassador S2 Event – 24^th February 2022

Our Subject Ambassadors staged an Options Event for our S2 pupils last week! They had spent months creating Boards, Displays and Activities for groups of S2 pupils to give them an idea of what each subject would be like in S3, should they choose it. They focused on the content covered in each subject, gave examples of pupil work and then gave S2 pupils information about the skills they could gain in each subject and the career paths linked. S2 pupils were able to ask questions about what studying each subject was like and really enjoyed hearing the experiences of our senior pupils.

S6 pupils had been so creative in thinking of tasks to complete with our S2 pupils. Pupils were engaged in quizzes, wordles, team building games and exercises and were lucky to be given lots of treats by our Ambassadors.

Both S2 and S6 pupils had a fantastic day! S2 Pupils really enjoyed being given some first hand information prior to making their important options choices. S6 took on this leadership opportunity brilliantly, they were a credit to their departments and to the whole school.

This event was the last event which our S6 Ambassadors were involved in as part of this role. Already this year, they have created Subject Posters and delivered lessons to S4 classes during Employability Week. Their focus has been on the skills and careers associated with each subject. They also created an Options Booklet within which they shared their top tips for success within each subject! They have fullfilled their role brilliantly throughout the year and all of our S6 Subject Ambassadors should be commended for their efforts!
