University…….here we come!
Congratulations to 65 of our senior pupils who have gained a place at University following their outstanding performance in the SQA exams. As a result more than half of our S6 pupils will go on to university. The majority of our learners have chosen to progress to Strathclyde, Glasgow or Stirling Universities, however we have a few learners who are going further afield to continue their education.
Congratulations to Jonathan Aitken who is going to Dundee University to study Dentistry, Seamus Bonner who has chosen St. Andrew’s University to study Computer Science and Jacqueline Shaw who will move to Aberdeen to study Medicine.
Congratulations also to Lewis Duncanson who has been successful in gaining a place to study Architecture at the Glasgow School of Art.
We wish all our leavers every success in the future!
On Monday 5 September at 6.30pm we will host a Raising Attainment Evening for parents of pupils in S4. The evening will consist of a number of presentations that will provide information on how you can support your child as they progress through the year. In particular specific arrangements around course requirements will be highlighted at this event. We look forward to seeing you there.
BGE Awards Ceremonies
We celebrated the success of our young people on Wednesday 22 June when over 300 pupils from S1, S2 and S3, were recognised for their outstanding academic progress and wider achievements at three award ceremonies.
All our award winners are pictured below with Mr. McNulty, Mr. Lester and Mrs Reynolds-Cowie. Congratulations to them all!
The events were attended by family and friends and we were entertained by wonderful musical performances including Magdalena Hubbard-Perez (S3) and Anna O’Reilly (S3) both playing the piano, Anna McMillan (S5) singing ‘Fields of Gold’ accompanied by Erin Campbell (S5) on guitar and Abbi Wilson (S4) singing ‘Yours’.
Some of our young people shared their wider achievement experiences at the ceremonies. They spoke passionately about their involvement in sports, Maths Challenge, Fire Reach, Outward Bound, Police and Business Challenges.
Nearly 300 pupils enjoyed a fantastic day at Blackpool Pleasure Beach on Monday 27 June accompanied by approx. 30 members of staff.
This trip was a reward to pupils for positive behaviour throughout the year and a great day was had by everyone. A very fitting end to another great year at Our Lady’s High School!
The S6 Prom took place on Friday 10 June at the Radisson Hotel, Glasgow.
This was a very glamorous event where our S6 pupils came together for the very last time to celebrate the end of their six years of education at Our Lady’s High School.
They all had a fantastic time and we wish them well for the future.

P7 Welcome Days
On Wednesday 8th and Thursday 9th of June we were joined by over 200 P7 pupils from our six associated primaries as part of their visit to Our Lady’s High School.
This was a wonderful opportunity for all of our young people to experience first hand a typical S1 day in a busy high school. Pupils followed their S1 timetable visiting a wide range of subjects and also got the opportunity to meet lots of staff and pupils.
The visit ended with a a wonderful sports afternoon with pupils participating in Dance, Rugby, Basketball, Football and Handball. As the visit came to a close and the 200 or so pupils were gathered in the assembly hall, red-faced, exhausted and all smiles after the sports afternoon, it was clear to see what an enjoyable couple of days they had had.
P7 Enrolment Mass
P7 pupils gathered in Our Lady’s High on the evening of Wednesday 8 June and joined with family and friends to participate in our P7 Enrolment Mass.
The Mass was concelebrated by our school chaplain Father McKay and Father Campbell.
Parents, carers and pupils were also joined by staff from Our Lady’s High as well as the Head Teachers and P7 staff from our six primaries. The occasion was marked with each pupil receiving a certificate of enrolment welcoming them to the community of Our Lady’s High!
