NLC School Transport consultation

The consultation to change school transport arrangements in North Lanarkshire is now open and will run until Tuesday 9 January 2018. The consultation focuses on proposals to increase the qualification for entitlement to free school transport for secondary school pupils from more than two miles from their home to their catchment school to more than three miles.

There will be a public meeting on Tuesday 28 November 7pm to 9pm in Greenfaulds High School, Cumbernauld.

Can you help?

Can you help?

This event contributes to the Scottish Government initiative ‘Developing the Young Workforce’ and enables our S3 pupils to talk to a range of representatives from the world of work about the activities, skills, qualities and knowledge required in a variety of workplaces. In addition, any applications of Numeracy skills can be discussed too.

Can you help? This is a great opportunity to inspire and motivate our young people as they begin to make important decisions about their future. The event is a speed networking event, involving conversations with groups of around 5 pupils..

If you would like to be involved or for more information, please get in touch with Mrs Hood or Mrs Dunbar.

Aimee Bryceland S2 has made it through to the ‘Open Mic’ semi finals which will be held in Stockport at the end of the month.

Aimee’s latest audition was in front of a judging panel as well as a live audience. Although, over 30 people took part in the same round, Aimee was one of only 10 to make it through to the next stage. What a fabulous achievement!

Aimee sang ‘Part of Your World’ from The Little Mermaid and we wish her well in the semi finals!

S1 Geography classes recently enjoyed a visit from Zoolab to supplement their work on the Amazon Rainforest. Tristan, from Zoolab, brought in lots of reptiles for the pupils to see including a tarantula, snake and millipede!

The pupils have been learning all about animals in the Amazon Rainforest and everyone really enjoyed seeing them in real life!
