Our Lady’s annual Talent Show took place on Thursday 8 December, where pupils from S1 to S6 entertained a jam-packed hall of family, friends and staff, raising over £500 for school funds.
Bands, singers, dancers, musicians and many more were delighted to be given the chance to showcase all their hard work after weeks of practice and after-school rehearsals.
Our Go4SET team attended the launch day at the University of the West of Scotland’s Hamilton Campus in November.
Our team are: Manal Alam, Owen Boyle, Ben Compston, Charlotte Diamond, Riordan Gallagher, Konrad Kaim and Shannen Lofnes.
Go4SET links teams of six S2 pupils with employers and universities to offer a 10 week Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Project.
Our team will be mentored by former Our Lady’s High School pupil Scott Waddell, Project Coordinator for Portakabin Scotland Ltd.
Our Lady’s High School Christmas Card 2016 was beautifully designed by Dominika Janiak S6 using acrylic paint and coloured pencils. This lovely card was sent to our local parishes, neighbouring schools and others in the local community. We are very grateful to Dominika for all her hard work and to the Art Department for all their support.
On Friday 16 December, pupils and staff of Our Lady’s took part in a Christmas themed non-uniform day to raise money for our Advent charities.
We raised nearly £700 from this activity which is a fantastic amount of money. Well done to all who participated!
During the month of December all RE classes at Our Lady’s were asked to make a hamper of treats to be delivered to the elderly and needy residents of Cumbernauld.
The young people and their families managed to collect enough food to make up almost 60 hampers. A phenomenal achievement!
The boxes were delivered to the local parishes in the last week of term to be distributed in time for Christmas. A huge thank you to all pupils and parents for their generosity to the hamper appeal.
