Every child has a right to feel safe and to be protected from harm and abuse.
All staff within Firpark Secondary have a responsibility for the wellbeing of children and young people in our school. Getting it right means remaining alert to circumstances where a child or young person may be harmed or is at risk of harm. All children are entitled to grow up in a safe and caring environment.
Firpark staff receive yearly Child Protection training to provide Teachers, Additional Support Needs Assistants, Office staff, Kitchen staff, Cleaning staff and Janitorial staff with guidance on procedures they should adopt in the event that they suspect a child or young person may be experiencing, or be at risk of, harm.
If there are any Child Protection concerns, the Head Teacher (Mr McGurk) or the Child Protection Co-Ordinator (Mr Dunbar) will follow North Lanarkshire Child Protection Procedures and Guidelines.
