Curriculum Information

S1-3 Broad General Education 

Pupils will learn to play a range of instruments including Keyboard, Tuned Percussion, Guitar, Ukulele, Bass Guitar and Drumkit. They will work independently for solo performance and also together for group performance.  Throughout the BGE pupils are also introduced to Music Technology using the Garageband app. They will listen to different styles of music and instruments.  They will also learn basic music theory and to identify music concepts
S4-S6 Senior Phase

We offer a wide range of courses to meet the ability of all learners.
This year we offer:

N1 Producing a Sound
N1 Exploring Sound
N1 & N2 Personal Achievement Awards: Individual Activity and Group Activity
National 3 Course Award
National 4 Course Award and  units
Free-standing performing units are available at all levels up to Higher & Advanced Higher

Courses are made up of 3 different elements:

Performing on 2 instruments (60% of final grade)
Understanding Music (40% of final grade)
Composing (internally marked)

Other Information:

We are hoping that The Choir will be able to resume this session.

There are musical presentations at all school services, giving pupils many opportunities to perform and build self confidence and allow their efforts to be enjoyed by the wider school.
